The idea for this deck is something that has been evolving for quite some time. It all started with Fumiko the Lowblood, I found her habilities quite interesting for a pillowfort kind of deck, where she would force every player to attack each other but I would be protected by propaganda effects and Fumiko would be there as a mega blocker to kill any who would dare trespass, but there was one problem, she is mono-red and I would need at least the white color to make it work with her as my commander. Due to that I put that concept to the side for a while.
When I saw the spoiler for Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor I found her hability interesting and then I remembered about Fumiko and how both of them would make an interesting combo, so I revisited the previous idea but this time with Varchild as the commander and Fumiko plus other cards with the same effect would be there, as a more aggressive version of my previous idea, giving creatures to my opponents and making them attack each other, resulting in a bloodbath. There was still a problem tho, the mono-red problem, I still could not protect myself very well from all that bloodthirsty creatures... At the same time I was also working on a deck with Adriana, Captain of the Guard that was meant to be a Knight tribal focused on Flanking, Melee and extra combat steps. As I was working on both decks I noticed some similarities between them and after a while the idea of joining both decks popped in my mind. As I did so I scrapped the knight tribal and flanking aspects, I kept the extra combat steps, forcing people to attack each other, token generation and some protection for myself. The result was what you see.
This is the deck that turns any table into a bloodbath, even decks that don't want to attack or don't have that many creatures, we got that covered mate, we give you creatures, all this deck wants is to incite war and chaos on the battlefield while you sit and watch your opponents go at each other, sometimes at you, and then when they are weak enough you finish them with your bigger army and/or extra combat steps.
To add insult to injury we also want to augment the damage that our opponents will be doing at each other and that's where Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Dictate of the Twin Gods come in, it wouldn't be a true bloodbath without any of these in play.
Now for specific cards:
Adriana, Captain of the Guard, you don't need to worry about playing her soon. You wanna play her only once you have an army big enough for a finisher, or if you already have Blade of Selves it will trigger melee and help you get in some extra damage anyway. Plus, because the melee pump lasts until the end of turn the extra combat steps will be stacking the pumps provided by each melee trigger;
Godo, Bandit Warlord is mainly here to tutor Helm of the Host and just go infinite to victory, but that's not something I will always do, in fact we don't use infinite combos in our playgroup, and I personally don't like them. This combo is only in the deck because not only it makes sense to be, due to what it wants to do, but it simply happens naturally, both cards are cards that would be in the deck anyway. Doesn't mean you have to do the combo, most times I will be tutoring any of the other equipments if necessary;
Blade of Selves is a card that I am not sure if I will keep or not, it only has 2 purposes here, trigger Melee provided by the commander and to get extra tutor effects from Godo, Bandit Warlord, if he is equipped the copies will come into play before dying thus you will get an amount of tutor triggers equal to the number of copies the Blade makes;
Neheb, the Eternal is in the deck for some extra mana if needed but also to combo with Aggravated Assault. This is another combo that goes infinite if you want, obviously that's something I won't normally do due to my playgroup's restriction on infinite combos;
Odric, Master Tactician seems obvious, he will be serving as evasion because I can choose no blockers letting my whole army go through;
Resolute Archangel will help me get back on my feet if my defenses fail and I get attacked too much;
Trove of Temptation is here for the extra mana and also to combo with Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs, forcing my opponents to come at me with at least one creature thus allowing me to create plenty of tokens (his ability triggers for each attacking creature, even the ones not attacking me, all it needs is one of them attacking me and he will create an amount of tokens equal to the total number of attacking creatures).
I guess there isn't much more to say about the deck. Any suggestions would be appreciated as always.
Thank you for checking my deck and reading all this.
