I think the deck could do with some refining... after some testing I found that your 1-drop creatures haven't been turning up as often as they should be in your opening hand. the graph shows that you've got a lot of 1-drop spells, but a turn 1 Bioshift or Rapid Hybridization seems pretty pointless maybe cut those down to let your creatures take up the full four slots

With the addition of Progenitor Mimic and already having Ooze Flux , I would say instead of Naturalize in the sideboard use Sundering Growth . For the same cost, you also get to populate.

I got around to making my build that is based off of this deck ((which is awsome)). I feel that it will work but still needs some help. Can you take a look at it? BUG Mutation - Please Comment

I think your earlier idea of splitting this deck into two separate ones may be spot on. I havent tested it yet, but it seems like you are trying to do a lot of different things, which often means you could be doing one thing better (early blowout wins for example, or mid game huge wins). Still, great deck.

Thank you tophat118! I am becoming more torn on splitting the deck the more I play it. The Undying works so well with Evolve, so I don't think either by themselves would do better. But I agree that doing too many different things generally means I could be doing one thing better.

I took this deck to Cockatrice for a good 8-9 hours playing. I didn't get to use Progenitor Mimic more then 2 times, that entire time (one of those times it was countered). With that exception I really really enjoy this deck and am going to use it at a FNM, after I playtest it some more to make sure I have learned all of the potential I think it has.
May 11, 2013 7:39 a.m.
I may reduce the Progenitor Mimic down to 1 or even drop it. I also haven't found myself using it often. One match against a fast aggro Boros deck I was holding up fine enough but barely lost (Legion Loyalist making tokens unable to block sucks) and I had both mimics sitting in my hand doing nothing the whole game.

I just played this deck on FNM last night and lost the first game 0-2, but I won 3 out of 5 games 3 were 2-0. The last match I had was against a B/W and I lost 2-1 but still got into 4th place out of like 20 people. It was great games and at one point I had a 36/36 Primordial Hydra . One Thing I do notice alot is I had some Ooze Flux out on the field and they didn't really do anything for me so I replaced them with 2 Give / Take . I also have a suggestion for you to take out both of your Progenitor Mimic and put in 2 Crowned Ceratok This deck needs some added Trample to your creatures, because I had some pretty beastly creatures out from Young Wolf and Rapid Hybridization combo's but no trample on them. So opponents would just block them besides Primordial Hydra . Maybe add 3 Rancor and take out 1 Vorel of the Hull Clade and 2 Zameck Guildmage . Try to stay away from 6 Drops or more it seems to me 5 or less works great with this deck to deal damage fast and get out some high damage dealing creatures, but overall Great Deck Sir. I commend you for your great work Keep on evolving that sucker! +1

Thank you VERY much for the tournament testing liquidsn8ke! I recently moved so I haven't had the time to compete in FNM. I really appreciate seeing the results and what gave the deck problems! Progenitor Mimic
has been on my chopping block for a bit, so I will most likely toss him in the near future.
May 11, 2013 8:07 p.m.
Ok liquidsn8ke after doing some tinkering I do know I want to take out the Progenitor Mimic
and I think I'll bump the Zameck Guildmage
down to 3. With those 3 open spots I do like the idea of adding Rancor
for trample and some quicker aggro.
From there I am wondering if I should add just a touch of control.. And if so, which spells should I use? I used to have Simic Charm in here, maybe try to squeeze it back in? And if so, which card can I drop for it? You mentioned reducing Vorel of the Hull Clade down to 1, but I really enjoy that card and had a LOT of success with him in an Intro Pack tournament (won 1st place with the Dragon's Maze Simic deck, no changes due to the 2 packs having nothing good). So I am not entirely sure I want to drop him or reduce him.
Were there any other cards in the deck that didn't get much use or didn't feel like you were getting as much use out of?

And on top of all of these ideas for changes I've had my eyes on Bred for the Hunt . 60 cards are not enough!!

So long as you have at least one Master Biomancer on the field, copying Primordial Hydra with Progenitor Mimic will create an army of ever-growing creatures, since they already enter the battlefield with +1/+1 counters. I personally like the idea of this, not to mention the reaction some people will have to this.
May 11, 2013 10:46 p.m.
What I've done with Progenitor Mimic is copy the Master Biomancer , as the more the multiply the bigger each of them enter the field. First the Mimic would start at minimum as a 4/6, then the first token would be a 8/10, and the next a 16/18 and so forth. But I rarely get a chance to do this, thus the mimic being cut soon.
May 11, 2013 11:18 p.m.
you can also have a new mimic copy the old one and double it's copying effect

I don't know if its the high mana cost but I rarely used the mimic, so he was cut. Made some changes to hopefully make the deck a little more flexible.

Hey again Madnote nice touch up on the deck here. I'm trying to go for a pure standard simic deck unless I'm wrong and you can have 2 Vorel of the Hull Clade cards but I'm just going for 1 so I can play in standard, even though they are amazing cards. I'd still take off another Zameck Guildmage and replace it with either another Strangleroot Geist or another Vorapede you can even add in those Crowned Ceratok i was talking about even though they aren't undying or have evolve they complement the rest of your deck superbly and theyre only a 4 drop instead of 5. Glad to see you dropped the Progenitor Mimic as I just don't see him doing well in this fast type simic deck. I would definitely take out the 3 Simic Charm and put them into your sideboard for hexproof protection, and replace them with 3 Give / Take . For they are 1 more mana drop and are permanet counters to add to your creatures or take away and draw some more cards off of a; for example Primordial Hydra as the hydra will gain the same amount of counters right at the start of your next upkeep. Honestly in my playthrough the Ooze Flux just isn't doing it for me So i put in another undying creature like Strangleroot Geist or hell add in another Rapid Hybridization , or Bioshift you can never have too many of those great combo's. Anyways just keep experimenting and I shall too we'll figure it out eventually lol.
May 12, 2013 4:54 a.m.
I decided to leave just 1 Ooze Flux
in the deck because it has done very well for me with keeping all of my undying creatures from being sent to the grave permanently, especially since it can target +1/+1 counters among all of the creatures I control. Undying creatures become a little tricky to keep alive with a Master Biomancer
out, which pairs amazingly well with the Ooze Flux
as it can not only remove all the extra counters the biomancer is giving them, but the oozes themselves come out with extras.
I'll keep an eye on how helpful Simic Charm
is for me. I wanted to have a little flexibility either with bouncing or protecting my creatures from harmful spells, the charm can do either. Another card that I've considered returning to the deck was the Simic Manipulator
as it can deal well with pesky creatures that are becoming a problem for me.

Hi Madnote Love the deck so I built on of my own with slight changes. Some because of some card constraints but you were looking at Renegade Krasis so I put some in this deck and it worked wonderfully. Playing one on like a turn four after your evolve can stall on Cloudfin Raptor and Gyre Sage when you have the mana to play a Vorapede or something larger the Krasis lets the evolving continue on your sage for more mana or the Raptor for more flaying attack.
I playtested this against a modern soldier deck that plays extremely fast with Preeminent Captain and one match the extra evolve counters from Renegade Krasis gave my sage the counters necessary for some extra mana for a monster hydra to swing for the win so this card for me is a keeper and will be staying in this deck I think. Definitely more synergy than the Progenitor Mimic . Hope this helps the deck get better! Good Luck

Been playing something similar Blessed Undying Evolution and use an all green mana base for consistency. Blessings of Nature
is pretty awesome and can create explosive starts and isn't bad later.

This deck is very very nice. Loved the description and the idea. I will be taking some of these tactics for my Simic. You truly deserve a +1.

Have you tried this deck out since you put in Bred for the Hunt ? I find the card draw very tempting and am curious if it pulls its weight. Very inspiring deck!

I am just wondering if you mulligan till you have a cloudfin raptor in your hand, because I recreated this deck build exactly and played my friend who runs Gruul aggro, and I got raped each time unless he flooded with land. How do you run this deck against faster decks?

So I squeezed the Progenitor Mimic in but am beginning to feel this deck is becoming spread too thin. During play it does well, but I just feel it could use a little focus on its mechanics.
I am considering splitting this deck into two separate decks. One that makes use of Zameck Guildmage and Undying creatures, and the other that uses Master Biomancer and focuses on growing large +1/+1 creatures.
What is everyone's thoughts on this? Thanks!
