The key is to counter spells, destroy creatures, and basically stall until you can get AEtherling out

Desecration Demon also helps as it is a 4 drop that can help stop the aggro decks, but against token decks, he might not be able to untap forever so....

Ludevic's Test Subject   is in the sideboard as he can become a blocker for those 1/1 tokens that are popular in my meta, and as he does that soon grow into a 13/13 creature with trample to run over those 1/1's
