So this is my first pauper deck, and I built because when I saw that all that glitters was downshifted. I was talking to one of my friends, they mentioned there was some decks going round which animated the artefact dual lands and then enchanted them. I thought that's kinda funky and funny, so decided to build something that could do that.
This is my attempt to do that, with extra aspects of affinity and control to try make sure that it works.
Have changed it a tad from original build, cut: 2 dark steel pendant, 2 mightstone's animation, 2 goldmine bridge.
When playing this, realised that the pendant really didn't do anything. Thought the extra indestructible artefact may be useful but I have enough indestructible lands that the animation affect doesn't need more targets. Cutting mightstone's animation was due to 4 mana being too much and for most of the game it being too slow and susceptible to 2 for 1's with removal. The goldmire bridges were cut as they tap for the colours that are represented the least, and I also found myself drawing too many lands so decided to cut down a bit for the moment.
Added: 4 Vapor Snag, 1 thoughtcast, 1 kenku artificer.
I added the 4 vapor snag's to add some tempo play to the deck as I found it very weak against any deck that has any cheap attackers which is unsurprisingly most decks. So need atleast a answer to them and thought this may be good with the extra damage (may change in the future. The thoughtcast is simple really, more card draw smoothes out my deck allowing me to do more. The kenku artificer does what I want to do, but cheaper than the mightstones animation. Also avoids 2 for 1's with removal. And like, extra creatures whilst animating the indestructible lands is a bonus really.
Am indecisive about whether I want to have more control magic in it or not, as it may allow me to keep my threats on board and or stop my opponents threats. But I already have 8 counters in main board and I don't want to take away too much from the rest of the affinity theme. It also weighs on my mind whether I should swap the Mir Enforcer's for the Frogmites. That would open up my sideboard to something like hydroblast or something whilst adding something a tad bigger to my mainboard. It probs is the right move, as I think I could get to 7 artefacts quite easily or at least reduce its cost to something quite reasonable.
