Revisiting this old deck since there's been so many new cards added since it was built. Looking for any "ninja" type abilities that can either supplement the ninjutsu ability or work at disrupting, assassinating, or poisoning opponents.

After briefly skimming over the list, how do you feel about Vela the Night-Clad? She cloaks your team with an evasive keyword and gives you great benefit for your creatures leaving the battlefield. I run a deck with a somewhat similar strategy with Vela at the helm, so give her some thought.

She used to be the commander for the deck a while back, but I found that with so many unblockable options out there here main cloaking ability seemed redundant, and I found that I just didn't have enough draw power. Sygg, River Cutthroat solved that problem.

I'm thinking you could be on the right track. 1 cc unblockable that can actually block if needed. I may be relying too much on flying being a good way to get to the opponent.

Huge revamp of this deck. Made it even more evasive and tricky, and with a new commander that fits the flavor I'm able to remain relatively under the radar until ready to dish some massive damage or a one shot poison counter kill. So far it has worked out well using redirection and bouncing to manage board states, though occasionally the draw is too heavy on instants and not enough creatures. So far that has been the only detriment to the deck. Any ideas are welcome, and I hope (to no avail most likely) that more ninja's will get added to the game.

Well, much to my surprise Wizards made more ninjas. Added some new options to the deck, and swapped out some other creatures to make room for more ninjas of course. Glad to see some more ninjutsu mechanics as well as some nice additions like Spellskite and Barrin, Tolarian Archmage. Still have to go through all the new instants that have landed in the game to see if there are more ways to confound my opponents. Any suggestions are most welcome.

Finally getting more efficient and evasive with this one thanks to the new expansion. Also helpful input from azja and Virlym who have good insights on what makes an effective ninja deck. So far the deck plays out as expected and always keeps opponents on their toes for an unexpected play.

How often do you Hatred for 20 life with Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow? Or is it too dangerous a venture with no life gain?
Phyrexian Tower seems good, has the hurt you a lot, or has it paid dividends to get Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow back into the command zone?
Grafted Exoskeleton can infect as a permanent. It's a bit high CMC and your opponents will see it, but like the Inkmoth Nexus can help get you over the hump? Or maybe a Glistening Oil? Both have some staying power if you get a player to 8. Neither are instant equip though like the Tainted Strike.

Spirits, Hatred comes in play quite often to take someone out and is used as a check for our playgroup since so many of them know I run it. Makes them sweat when they have less life than me.
Phyrexian Tower is usually used as a save against exile as well as a second black mana when absolutely needed. Mainly as a fallback. Same to save Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow if I want to drop her back into the command zone, though it isn't an abuseable mechanic.
For the higher cost infect options, as you know, these decks really need a low cmc for most spells to stay flexible. Glistening Oil seems interesting though since I get return to hand option. I'll check that one out since I'm always looking to get more infect options.

Swapped out the counterspells with redirects. Thought that would be a bit more "ninja" and looking forward to seeing how it pans out.
