Higher creature count, main board counters, and Rancor over Become Immense makes it play a bit differently. It is the style he likes. Help him with it or move on homie

bromerta , i do not know if you are referring to me, but infect cannot be a midrange deck. midrange decks use mana ramps and high cost creatures like Siege Rhino. midrange also uses life gain tactics like Kitchen Finks. midrange is slow, grindy, has tons of removal, and is meant to dealt with many situations. blue green infect cannot be midrange. it has low cost creatures meant to be deployed early. solid removal will just destroy infect. the closest thing to midrange infect will ever get close to is if it uses major enchantments like bogles. this isn't even midrange its just taking out a couple key cards to try to make it last longer. there are no real midrange elements here.

Did I ever call it Midrange? If I did it was accidental (sorry). I've said he wants a slower build. Seems to be less combo more tempo. He sets his parameters not ms.

@bromerta – Thanks for the support, man :)

@bah-bammmm – I shouldn't refer to it as a midrange deck, because it's not. I'll go ahead and remove that from the description. You are right about that; most infect builds are not well-suited for a slow game plan. I have a hard time keeping up with the likes of Tarmogoyf, Siege Rhino, Primeval Titan, and friends (although i did just PWN a Jund deck with Dawn Charm, it works wonders against Inquisition of Kozilek). This is full blown aggro, with just enough interaction to stop the opponent from killing my game plan. You might consider it to be aggro-tempo (thanks again bromerta).

I am really on the fence about Simic Charm. It looks like i'm dedicating three of my sideboard spots to removal (okay, bounce), and that Simic Charm, Unsummon, and Vapor Snag are the contenders. I've gotta make sure that i attribute all these suggestions correctly!

hey man, i would take out the vapor snag. Simic Charm can get you what you need. sometimes you will not draw Vines of Vastwood or Groundswell, and if you drew a vapor snag it will not do much. drawing a simic charm gives you more choices.

You could always play dismember.

You should study up on the differences between your build and popular alternatives and justify the deviations.

You run spell pierce, he runs spellskite.

You run distortion strike and rancor. He runs serum visions and become immense.

There are significant differences.

Some questions to ask yourself:

Is distortion strike necessary when you run blighted agent and inkmoth nexus?

Is rancor more efficient than might of old krosa or more useful thanserum visions.

Just things to think about. Not right or wrong - the important bit is why and justifying the choices.

@ChiefBell – Well, this deck doesn't have the same strategy. Just like not all decks with a playset of Lightning Bolt have to be aggro burn decks, not all decks featuring a playset of Glistener Elf have to be combo-oriented, "dump your hand on turn 2" decks. My deck has a different gameplan, both mainboard and sideboard. It doesn't make much sense to compare the two, much like it doesn't make sense to compare Grixis Twin and Grixis Control.

Now, is my strategy stronger, faster, more resillient? Well, it depends. This build is capable of that famous turn 2 kill (but not easily), however, it sacrifices speed for consistency and flexibility. Now maybe this idea works, maybe it doesn't. However, i don't fold to Spellskite (which is a huge deal), Primeval Titan, Wurmcoil Engine, Dismember, or a turn 1 blocker such as Wild Nacatl, and i like that. I can topdeck extremely well, because most of my spells serve multiple purposes – Rancor is pump, evasion, and card advantage all in one; Vines of Vastwood provides reach when desired and protection when needed; Spell Pierce can disrupt my opponent's mainboarded combo or save my little one from a Lightning Bolt. I like that a lot.

I am not saying i am better than the pro deck you listed. I won't say i'm worse either. Just different.

That's fine. That's a reasonable assessment.

i can say that you have to look at your local meta. is there a lot of tron? jund? Abzan? shift your sideboard to what your lgs meta is. i would say that Simic Charm gives you more options than vapor snag when you are topdecking. what if you are topdecking and you draw an unneeded vapor snag when you needed pump, or protection? you might realize this when you draw a vapor snag you will not need.

Yeah vapor snag is great but what about against burn or storm? It's an absolute wasted card spot.

@bah-bammmm @Felixlives – You're both right. Simic Charm does possess that flexibility. I'll be playtesting with the all of Simic Charm, Vapor Snag, and Unsummon and see how it goes.

Thank you so much. I saw this deck a while back and was so confused. But it is actually masterfully crafted. +1!

I have been considering removing Nature's Claim and replacing it with Unravel the Aether, since Nature's Claim is a nonbo with my Geist of Saint Traft backup strategy. Any suggestions?

I'm interested in how you coded your description. I'm really bad at this sort of thing, so would you be willing to share your secrets? :)

Specifically, I'm interested in how you centered images within accordions, and how you make the accordions/nest them in the first place. Any other tips you have would be great. Thanks!
