love the idea, I would switch Fleecemane Lion for Sylvan Caryatid , since mana ramp seems more important than early presure...

after testing it out , i Hated Theasa in this deck. she never turned on and your 3 drops are lacking.

Same thing with Ephara, God of the Polis you never had enough creatures to make it count.

i would switch those out for verdicts, detention sphere, the new Oblivion ring, And Jace is no where to be seen.

I'm actually planning on putting in the new Oblivion ring, just saw it spoiled. As for the other cards, they are all RTR Block, so they are a no-go for this Theros Block deck.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion is gonna be hard to run 3 copies of because she is both expensive (so you are much more likely to draw another copy of her by the time you get her out) and very +1 based.

Planeswalkers like Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver are used in 3 or 4 copies sometimes because they are so cheap so you get one out very early.

Planewalkers like Jace, Architect of Thought and Kiora, the Crashing Wave are often essential to the deck they are in, and their - ability is so nice (card draw) that you almost always want 4 copies if you can get them because you go through them so fast.

I think you should go down to 2 copies of elspeth unless she is very essential to your deck. Ajani I would say the same but he is a puts on sunglasses cool cat so go nuts. Also more important to your deck.

I seriously recommend bumping up Eidolon of Blossoms from a 3x to a 4x. You already have 16 enchantments in the deck and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes helps you draw more enchantments. I feel this tempo is crucial to your deck. With your 4x Kiora, the Crashing Wave and 4x Eidolon of Blossoms , you will never miss kiora's -1 land drop.

What to take out for it? That's a super tough decision. My initial thought is 1 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes since he has no - abilities and starts with a higher CMC, therefore tends to stay on the field longer. Plus, this extra card draw will more than make up for the probability of drawn the Ajani, Mentor of Heroes when needed. What do you think?

also, I am not that big of a fan of Ephara, God of the Polis in here due to only having 12 other creatures in the deck. Maybe take those out for 2 Oppressive Rays to add to the enchantment theme and help deal with early aggro (RDW, mono blue, mono black, U/W heroes). I feel this card is VERY good, especially as a common. Another option would be to just bump up your other two enchantments to 4. Just some more thoughts.

Dreno33 I have been thinking of cutting Ephara, God of the Polis due to my lack of creatures, and I believe cutting her to bump both Eidolon of Blossoms and Font of Fortunes from x3 to x4 will benefit the most, as I'm essentially cutting weaker card draw for stronger ones in terms of the deck. This also allows me to keep 3 copies of Ajani, Mentor of Heroes , as I find his library searching to be crucial to the success of this deck.

Thank you for the very thoughtful suggestions, I'm also going to see about adding in Oppressive Rays as at least a SB against aggro.

That's just a guess, we will see what M15 holds. He isn't going based off of that assumption, nor should anyone.

How about Nyx-Fleece Ram to slow down your opponent a bit and protect your planeswalkers? Plus it'll make you draw a card with your Constellation guy.

@rob71 As stated in the deck description and multiple times in the comments, this is a Theros Block deck.

Why are you not running Dictate of Kruphix? It's so much better than the font of fortunes.

Definitely, definitely, definitely get rid of curse of the swine. There are so many better options available.

The last banishing light should be in here in the main deck. It's too good to not run if you aren't running d spheres.

Lastly, Swan Song is literally the worst card in the Theros block.

Dictate of Kruphix . Definitely better than Font.

God-Favored General is a beast with constellation effects. With Eidolon of Blossoms , that could be a draw engine alone. He also helps fill your board with defense for your walkers before Elspeth hits. Give it a shot? If you do, I'd recommend taking out the fonts or Curse of the Swine . Banishing Light is also so good, I'd try to make room for a fourth one if you can.

This deck has to much ramp in it. You could finish your win condition round out by main boarding the 2x Mistcutter Hydra in place of the Thassa, God of the Sea . I know that Thassa has good synergy with Eidolon of Blossoms but you are always going to be far short of activating her as a creature. Right now you are either going to have to rely on a buffed up Courser of Kruphix or popping an ultimate off from either Kiora or Elspeth. I like the deck idea though. Just some thoughts.

nick_schlundt says... #21

i dont think the thassa belongs in the deck, i think it would be better putting the krufix in. Even though you do get to scry, itll never become a creature and you wanna be able to protect your planeswalkers until your creatures get big and attack. This being said, kruphix wont be super helpful either i would add the brimaz's in

First observation on this: Mana Confluence has no place in a control deck like superfriends. You'll be bleeding more life than what you gain.

Sphere of Safety since your running so many enchantments?

May 3, 2014 8:33 p.m.

celestite4 says... #24

I'd use Detention Sphere instead of Banishing Light since there's blue in there.

May 6, 2014 12:31 a.m.

Funinak2 says... #25

Sphere of Safety and Detention Sphere are both RTR Block, and this being a Theros Block deck I can't use them. As for Thassa, God of the Sea , I'm thinking of swapping them for either Brimaz, King of Oreskos or 2 more lands.
