Speed Problems... —April 23, 2014

Hey guys we made it to 53 almost immediately :D Lets see if we can get to 100. I believe it. Then again, I'm a little insane.

More importantly, Play testing the deck - it feels much slower than it should be. I feel that to effectively run over my opponent, I have dropped some of the extraneous high end stuff, and threw in quicker, smaller CMC creatures:

Dropped

Added

Also for the Sideboard:

But it is still under construction

Instead of Imposing Sovereign i would put Blind obedience in the sideboard.

In my opinion, Ajani in GW aggro is good, but is also slow. With the current top build in Selesnya Aggro, the curve is short and sweet. This deck needs to be more power oriented with ramp to fit ajani well. I love the deck, it just feels like the synergy is too slow. Good luck smoothing it out!

@clayrichards262, I am working on another copy of this deck with the feedback that I have been given.

Yeah, Ajani, mentor of Heroes will need both ramp and Hexproof creatures to plow through opponents.

I think that it is about time that I actually update this deck to what it will be post-Journey.

I think the deck was stronger before the recent changes.

Would love to see some Godsend in here. U could drop the extra copy of Karamata for it.

I just had the privilege of giving you your 50th +1 - this deck is the shit.

A few suggestions, if you don't mind:

I can't stress how good Sylvan Caryatid is. Even if you're only playing 2 colours. Even without the mana fixation, it provides a great chump blocker with Hexproof. I would honestly drop Trostani, Selesnya's Voice - and I'll tell you why. For one, you're gaining a DICK load of a life with the new Ajani and Archangel of Thune . I'm sure you'll be just fine against burn.

I'd move Witchstalker over to the sideboard for Dimir hate. Maybe try a playset of Loxodon Smiter if you're looking for a solid 3-drop? 4/4 for 3 and it can't be countered, avoids a Duress or a Thoughtseize . I don't know what your meta is like, but as an Esper control player myself, Loxxy is a bitch to get off the field...unless of course I have Supreme Verdict - that brings me to my next point...

For your sideboard, I'd also throw in a few Rootborn Defenses to get around board wipes. Anger the gods is not fun to deal with, trust me.

I'd also suggest Boon Satyr as a 3-drop. The flash allows you to dodge mass removal by EOT casting, then hitting for 4. Also you can bestow at instant speed which is both great value and a viable combat trick.

Kalonian Tusker i don't agree with because you have Fleecemane Lion which is a straight upgrade and the deck already has 7 2-drops.

Mistcutter Hydra is a sideboard card for sure. Completely unblockable, unkillable by Mono Blue Devotion.
