I drafted primarily Black and White, with some green picks near the end that focused on -1/-1 counters. I'm iffy on whether to include all/some of:
In Oketra's Name - I don't have a LOT of zombies, but I do have a good number. My deck is skewed heavily toward 2 and 3 cost creatures so a card that boosts those will help in the end game assuming I can keep them on the board. It's also an instant, which is fantastic.
Unburden - It's always great to make your opponent discard cards, but feel like I'd need to sacrifice the strength of my creatures to make it happen.
Final Reward - This is just a good card, I feel like it's a must-have. I just need to know what to throw out to include it.
Cartouche of Ambition - This card is only so-so. It goes along well with the -1/-1 counter portion of my deck but I don't have too many cards that would benefit from it directly with the exception of Nest of Scarabs.
Splendid Agony - -2/-2 for 2 is a great cost. I feel like I should include both copies of this in my deck as it can help deter big creatures from dominating my little zombies.
Cruel Reality - I have a feeling this card will never hit the table, nor will it ever take effect in draft. But I'm not sure. I'm only returning to MTG after several years of not having played.,I remember prior drafts being quick games where 7-mana cards don't hit the table.
Horror of the Broken Lands - I'm torn about this one. A 4/4 for 5 isn't terrible and I want to include it to have some bigger hitters on my team. My fear is that In Oketra's Name might not be enough to bolster my attacks and defenses, but I don't have too many cards with cycle, so I worrk that HotBL won't proc as often.
Anointer Priest and Sacred Cat - I don't have too many embalm mechanics, but Annointer Priest with Nest of Scarabs would be a very powerful combination. Especially when paired with Embalmer's Tools that decrease the cost of Embalm abilities. Sacred Cat can stay or go. I kept it because of its embalm mechanic to turn it into a zombie.
I tried to keep my deck two-color, but I'm tempted by Ahn-Crop Champion and Crocodile of the Crossing (And to a lesser extent, Decimator Beetle). Most of my cards don't put -1/-1 counters on my own creatures and those that do (Like Plague Belcher) actually benefit me from killing off zombies when it's time for them to go away. That said, if I did go tri-color, I'd likely include ACC, CotC, and both Evolving Wilds and Painted Bluffs, to get green mana onto the table sooner. The trade off would be some lower-powered creatures in favor of a stronger mana curve - but none of these cards provide Zombies, -1/-1, or cycling/discarding abilities so I'm hesitant to split into tri. Any advice would be great!
