CGB helped to inspire this version of Akroan Food —————————————————- -Adding Beast Whisperer for post rotation -Adding Old Growth Troll for KHM release ————————————————- Deck building observations: ———————————————- Ilysian Decision/Beast Whisperer Decision: Dryad of the Ilysian Grove was considered for this deck as a specialist. The idea was that this green splash midrange land base is ideal because of green’s affinity for mana-fixing with cards like Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. De Facto, this deck has strong card draw. Which, helps to find a red mana source. And, I decided to lean into that with a card like Beast Whisperer instead of Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. —————————————————- Specialist Asymmetry: As my decks become more of a flavor archetype, I can all but try to keep them powerful. While meta decks should run mostly playsets, it is my impression with that these ‘flavor archetypes’ I will tend to continue slot in a small number of one-off specialists. And, tend to push the optimal 60 card deck (Plus Sideboard) towards around 63.
