I don't feel like Wake the Reflections is that good or necessary. Something like Magma Jet has a lot more utility. Firemane Avenger and Aurelia's Fury are always good, too. Also, Spear of Heliod .

+1 for Akroan Horse. :D

Hammer of Purphoros ? Seems like it would be good in here.

Also, Molten Birth might have a place in here

Just realized Cavalry Pegasus does almost nothing for me since the Soldier tokebs aren't humans. Now I'm sad, it was a great card.

Sideboarded the Hammer. It could come in useful if I ever need larger tokens.

Molten Birth is a good card, but I'd rather be casting more things rather than casting the Birth possibly every turn. Plus I want to keep it focused on Soldier tokens.

If you converted it to nays, Trostani, Selesnya's Voice would be killer in aggro matchups, and Sylvan Caryatid could stall and ramp into your higher cost cards safely

Also Voice of Resurgence would be insane

I was originally going to make it Naya, but the Boros and Selesnya cards didn't play very well together. Boros tokens are weak 1/1 tokens that swarm. Selesnya tokens are stronger that beat down on your opponent. Boros needs a lot more tokens to win. Selesnya basically needs only a Voice of Resurgence . Two different styles of play.

Skullclamp in SB? Not legal.

How the hell did that get there? It's supposed to be Skullcrack . Brain, you have failed me yet again.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Have you ever thought about using Path of Bravery ? It may even be better than Spear of Heliod since you gain life whenever your creatures attack.

The thing is, I'm constantly taking damage because I don't want my weak nontoken creatures, like Firefist Striker , to block and die. So even when I'm battalion attacking, usually I'm still down under 20. Spear of Heliod is nice because even though it's second ability is slow and rarely used, it's guaranteed anthem is nice.

I'll playtest it though and see how it might do in the Spear's place. Thanks for the suggestion.

Another card that might be helpful Court Street Denizen . Because the horse generates tokens on their turn, you can stall attacks and pave the way for your guys to get through once they have some board presence.

Very true, but she's best in a control deck. To include her, I'd most likely have to get rid of my removal cards (Magma Jet and Lightning Strike ) or Ogre Battledriver , who's very good with creatures entering the battlefield (especially Tajic).

With all those tokens where's Purphoros, God of the Forge ?

He's in there, just as a 1-of cause it sicks drawing more than 1 if him.

bmetok says... #16

Yup...there he is...missed him. You could always throw in a couple Wild Guess for circumstances like that.

Eh... I'd rather just stick to one. He's only fairly good with just Akroan Horse and only great with Assemble the Legion and Elspeth, Sun's Champion .

Door of Destinies !!! I saw this deck being run at my FNM and it was basically your opponent having Akroan Horse and the door beefing them up.

Never mind, misread the card! +1 on cool deck!

Why another rootborn in the sideboard while you got the charm? And it wont protect your horse either which is controlled by the opponent if a verdict enters the battlefield.

RikonVan says... #21

On top, i think Skullcrack sucks since your deck wants to buy some time and dont go all in aggro.

November 4, 2013 7:43 a.m.

RikonVan says... #22

You could go for Anax and Cymede build (its also great anti aggro) to push up your creeps.

GoldGhost012 says... #23

TheGamer, thanks!

RikonVan, Rootborn Defenses are for matchups where Boros Charm alone won't be enough against boardwipes. The populate is a welcome, although not exactly great, effect. Skullcrack is for matchups against Fog -type and absurd lifegain decks. Anax and Cymede won't be very helpful; the only Heroic triggers I have are burn spells and Boros Charm s, both of which serve a greater purpose. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Why you care about boardwipes? You got the charm and the legion. I got that skullcrack is against fog decks and thats exactly why its worthless.

November 4, 2013 12:36 p.m.

GoldGhost012 says... #25

Boardwipes ruin everything. Even if Assemble the Legion still makes tokens, all my other combat tricks, namely Firefist Striker and Ogre Battledriver , are gone. Plus I like to be absolutely prepared.

Skullcrack is, in my opinion, better than a lot of people give it credit for. It shuts down the Fog decks, and completely nullifies Archangel of Thune , while dealing damage. It's better than Lightning Strike in the "hit player" category (although Lightning Strike is better for creature removal).
