You're fine. You made some pretty good arguments. :)

seems like Legion's Initiative would work well in this deck.

Tupie_San, that's a great idea, thanks. I can probably take out Seismic Stomp for them.
Krakshot, Massive Raid is a hit and miss card- either it does lots of damage or it doesn't. I don't think I could justify taking out my more versatile burn cards for it.
lorentapia, Legion's Initiative would be probably adequate at most in here. The tokens that get exiled wouldn't come back, and although it is tempting for combat tricks, I don't think it's worth it.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

looks like i'm not the only one who doesn't think Akroan Horse sucks! check mine out. See Ya Lata!. its completely different. btw, plus 1 for the trojan theme!
i do have one suggestion though. i highly recommend Legion Loyalist as he gives trample to your creatures and Path of Bravery to help you stay in the game by attacking
November 8, 2013 11:11 p.m.
to enforce the argument made for path earlier, the main point of this card is so that blitz decks don't run you over unless you block. it's not so much about the buff, but about the extra life

Legion Loyalist was in here at one time, but I took him out for more lands and because I liked Soldier of the Pantheon better.
Path of Bravery can go in, I guess. Worst case senario, it's a lifegain card.
Thanks!

if you find yourself on high mana... Devout Invocation ? it makes the game end a lot faster if your tokens aren't pushing through, i always found that card to be fun with token generators

Solid! fellow Akroan Horse fan here, i'm utilizing him with Tymaret, the Murder King for shennanigans.

This rules. I love ANY deck built around an underdog card. And it's nice to see someone using the Boros Charm for something other than the boring "4 to the dome".
+1

Countertop, 9 times out of 10 Devout Invocation will be a dead draw, because the mana cost is too high and I should have won or lost by then. Most of the time when I have seven lands I've already played everything in my hand (which shouldn't have been much) and am cursing the fact that I can't stop drawing lands. Besides, when I have a lot of mana, usually that means I can alpha strike with Aurelia's Fury or pump with Purphoros, God of the Forge .
mahlonn, that's a really neat idea, especially in EDH. I might have to try that with my Tymaret build.
tundrabear, Boros Charm can hit an opponent?! What is this sorcery?!
Thanks for the comments and suggestions!

I have a blue version of this deck, honestly... almost the same, but running counters, not burn (and no purph.. but hey, I got detention sphere... =)
Check it out.. In my cersion I abuse Trading Post , Akroan Horse , (even being able to recast the turn after a verdict, and probably gain 4-9 life with each card I am willing to accept as a "dead draw", as well as re-use "ratchet bomb"... I think Trading Post is the card that is broken, but I came upon this theory when thinking about adding red simply for Assemble the Legion ... so I found a way for azorius to play a kind of "mock assemble" that has a lot more utility than you think... check it out... (its my only deck on my profile...)
+1 for trying to use the card.... =)

I might suggest 1-2 Trading Post be incorporated somewhere, as the interaction of it with other artifacts is good, plus being able to recover horse, or throw horse for life gain then pull it out and play it anyway...
November 11, 2013 4:19 p.m.
you can't sacrifice a creature your opponent control though
November 11, 2013 6:02 p.m.
I was not suggesting that, I was suggesting you can get it back from your GY if it dies...
November 11, 2013 6:08 p.m.
You can even toss from your hand, gain 4, then use a token to get it back to hand, cast it again, and even extort with Blind Obedience ...
November 11, 2013 6:09 p.m.
My Azorius control underwent massive surgery, and became "Horse-Trader"... The SB options vs. aggro decks takes out all counter ability and just ABUSES the interaction of the cards, regularly being able to gain 50-100 life a game, and let my opponent mill out if Elspeth, Sun's Champion or AEtherling cannot get the job done..
I made these changes because vs. aggro, Azorius control is just too slow, so I incorporated life-gain in 2x Trading Post and 4x Elixir of Immortality main deck, then add more...
Additionaly, to make up for loss of counter ability, I retain the 4x Supreme Verdict and the 4x Detention Sphere and add 3x Ratchet Bomb and the bombs are recoverable either by sacrifice of a token, (which post can create if need be) and recover the bomb, or just use elixer... 3 ratchet bombs just coming back and back and back, with some verdicts tossed in, gets annoying... and lets not forget I am gaining massive life the whole time... =)

sadiuh, thanks!
Calavon, Trading Post is just too slow for this deck. Why throw away an Akroan Horse when I can get much more value from playing it? If it dies, it dies. It's not essential to winning. Thanks for the suggestion though.
November 11, 2013 10:47 p.m.
I added Angelic Accord to my deck after looking at other Trading Post decks.. but just as a 1-off...
November 11, 2013 11:34 p.m.
Im just saying your colors already contain a token generator, and a better one than horse, yet you run only 2 of those... if I had access to red mana I would have not went with horse at all, but with Assemble the Legion , but the horse is the only thing I go thats even close, so it has to fill that gap, other than elspeth or the post's ability, which cannot attack on its own anyways, so it is only chump block... and you can run Legion's Initiative as well, I cant... well I could but at half strength... and that card defeats wrath just as sure as a boros charm, and has a nice bonus... probably get more than 4 damage out of initiative ... 2 for 1...

Assemble the Legion is more mana-intensive than Akroan Horse , although not by much I will admit. And it is a better win condition. But I wouldn't want more than 2, maybe 3, because otherwise it'll clog up the deck.
Plus, I made this deck to prove a point. It defeats the purpose and theme of it if there was no Akroan Horse .
November 11, 2013 11:45 p.m.
Well, I like the fact you are using a card most people have overlooked... I am using it to try to break a few molds myself, first being the end of mono-black decks, the second is to prove it is not a "bad" card, just a situational card... heck people used to think a Mox Emerald was a stupid card.... 1 mana.. whatever...
