Alesha, Ally from Tarkir

Commander / EDH

For some reason Recruiter of the Guard is non edh legal, according to gatherer it is still available in edh. The Eldrazi Displacer noted on list is actually a Recruiter of the Guard.

Alesha, Who Smiles at Death is like a fixed Kaalia of the Vast but has the added benefit of its pieces not being too high in cmc for her/his absence to be an issue. With this in mind I took a look at token generators which, although extremely powerful with Alesha, seemed to overlook the sheer amount of things that creatures entering the battlefield can trigger.

I looked elsewhere and noticed that alot of the Allies in her color have power two or less and love to see each other enter play. Otherwise the few outside of her reach are sheer value with the amount of other options she has. Tuktuk Scrapper is devastating, especially with the amount of artifact ramp in the format. Conspiracy will always name Ally as it adds so much to what is already there.

With that the non ally creatures are also fairly valuable, the likes of Duplicant take on the added ability to repeat themselves, giving the deck the ability to protect itself fairly well, however more spot removal and wipes wouldn't be a bad idea. On the note of utility Recruiter of the Guard is a monetarily cheaper Imperial Recruiter, which I will add over time, although it looks for toughness there are a number of targets for it to hit. Consistency needs to be upped, more draw/dig would also be nice.

She can sustain herself quite well, even after breaking off to an early start. Boardwipes never really set her back unless they are repeatable and relentless.
