Thanks for the look Foxhound438! I thought about Torch Fiend/Reckless Reveler but I feel as though I can do well without needing the targeted artifact destruction, especially with Kolaghan's Command in the maindeck. Toxic Deluge is an option, but my life total is precious thanks to Dark Confidant and my shocks so I want to preserve it wherever possible. I considered Fiend Hunter, but I'd rather save those shenanigans for Tidehollow Sculler. Necrotic Sliver isn't a bad choice, and one I frequently forget about, it's just a matter of finding space. I had Hero's Blade but really found it underwhelming and I'm sure I would find the same with O-Naginata. I only have one copy of Council's Judgment, but it might earn a spot in the SB. My local metagame doesn't have a ton of threats that can only be removed by Council's Judgment, so I'm not terribly worried about getting it in.

Grenzo, Dungeon Warden is basically a second Alesha (that you pump if need be). Also, with all the dying going on Blood Artist seems like a good addition.
I have also had ok results with Spirit Bonds as well

Kolaghan's Command is in the list, if you look under the Instants. I had Mardu Charm for a while, but it never did quite enough. As for Orzhov Charm it doesn't do enough in my opinion. I don't have that many 1 drops to reanimate, I run no auras, and I have plenty of other ways to interact with other creatures better than Orzhov Charm.

This deck seems pretty good, +1.
For sideboard, Smother and Victim of Night are better removals than Doom Blade and Ultimate Price. If you're using Nature's Ruin and Perish against Ezuri decks, consider replacing one of them with Shrivel. Engineered Plague still is an option againt elves.
Also, I would go Foul-Tongue Shriek over Duress and Council's Judgment over Banishing Light.

jimmynitos - Smother is a bit of an oversight, but I'll definitely find space for it once I acquire one. Also Foul-Tongue Shriek is pretty terrible, I'd rather have the hand disruption that Duress provides. I'm not sure I have a spare Council's Judgment, but it does increase the average CMC and makes my mana a bit worse. It does catch everything, but I do (at some point) have to consider the mana in my deck.

Why no Blind Zealot or Bone Shredder? Those two are powerful as all hell with alesha.Kill-Suit Cultist is also an option

griz024 - I've thought about Bone Shredder, but I like the creature suite the way it is currently. If Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh Flip doesn't work out, she might be on the chopping block. However my deck has plenty of 3 drops, and I'm really looking for more cards lower on the curve.

I had a similar problem, i got around it by using discard. Faithless Looting and Tormenting Voice work great. Once in the yard, their cmc doesnt matter. Ill post my GOOD alesha deck later day if you want a look. The one i have up now was an experiment that didnt work out.

Why are you using Unexpectedly Absent? The only thing I would see it being used for is on the commander, but the tuck rule is out sooooo... Or is the tuck rule just out for commander?
August 4, 2015 7:06 p.m.
The tuck rule is a thing in Tiny Leaders last I checked, but that's not what Unexpectedly Absent is for. It's a utility card that can get rid of most troublesome permanents.
griz024 - I keep finding that my Alesha doesn't stay in play for long, always drawing removal. Because of this I want to be sure that my cards can stand on their own merits. Sure self-discard like Faithless Looting is good for that, but I want the creatures to be able to work without Alesha in play.

Nevermind, goes against your strategy. Disregard it.

masterHephner57 - Would you mind elaborating why Arashin Foremost is worth including in a deck with only one Warrior?

alesha is a warrior and you're almost definitely going to have her out
September 21, 2015 3:34 p.m.
That may be true, but giving Alesha Double Strike as a one-off or when attacking isn't what I want in the deck. Maybe if I had more Warrior synergy, she would be included.

Oversold Cemetery is a pretty good card in alesha decks

Reconnaissance is really good for those cards that say on your upkeep becasue it ensures they make it to your upkeep also you can do it right after damage so it basiacly gives everything vigilance in the worst case. Mind Slash and Attrition are both worth looking at as far as sac outlets go. Grenzo, Dungeon Warden is fun and Wall of Blood makes dreams come true.

Just a few things to consider: Torch Fiend, Reckless Reveler (sideable, for killing swords), Toxic Deluge, Fiend Hunter (better than banisher priest, you sac in response to the etb on the stack to exile a creature permanently), Necrotic Sliver, Wear because value town, Hero's Blade because who doesn't, Council's Judgment (expensive, yes, worth it), O-Naginata because a 6 power first striker is hard to fight, and of course, swords of these and those.
