Finally did some playtesting with this deck, and it was a hilariously good time. Even caught some of my buddies at my LGS off guard and got me a 2nd place finish at our Sunday tournament. Let's go over some of the cards and find out why and how this mess of B/R dudes synergize so well.
First off, we have 3 underlying themes going on here. 11 Legendary creatures to take advantage of our Hero's Blade package. The look on your opponent's face when you dash in
Zurgo Bellstriker
or Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury and attach 1 or more Hero's Blade to them for free is priceless. Playing a turn three 6/4 Alesha, Who Smiles at Death is nothing to scoff at either!
Secondly, we have our warrior theme, and synergy with
Blood-Chin Fanatic
. All of the creatures in this deck besides Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury are warriors! Also something to note, Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, Tymaret, the Murder King and
Zurgo Bellstriker
are all legendary warriors, and can be sacrificed to the fanatic as well. This is especially awesome if they've got a Hero's Blade equipped.
And lastly, we have a small re-animator theme here with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, Tymaret, the Murder King, Bloodsoaked Champion and Kolaghan's Command. And some nice sacrifice outlets with
Blood-Chin Fanatic
and Tymaret, the Murder King to help fuel our graveyard shenanigans..
