Edit: I have updated the deck for the latest standard, but I have not yet updated the description. I will change it within the week to reflect the changes. BFZ lands make splashing fairly easy, so I've added Crackling Doom to the deck.

This a RW deck that uses Hero's Blade alongside legendary creatures to create huge threats that the opponent has to deal with quickly. Unlike a ramp deck we don't have clunky draws and can last into the mid-late game. We also have the benefit of being a two color deck which means we have good mana, a solid curve, and can play cheap removal like Chained to the Rocks.

The non-legendary creatures in the deck are there to improve consistency. Abbot of Keral Keep helps smooth out our curve and get two-for-ones in the late game. Relic Seeker helps fetch the Blade.

Alesha is one of the more powerful cards in the deck and synergizes with all of the creatures, minus Brimaz. Returning Pia and Kiran Nalaar or Abbot of Keral Keep is a lot of value.

This deck is also a fairly good investment for post-rotation as most of the Legendary Creatures won't rotate.

So why do I play this deck? Because it wins. I've had enormous success with it online and at FNM.

Lost to GW Constellation. Very bad match-up. They have so much incidental lifegain to delay that it's hard to get through. I've completely adjusted the SB and changed the maindeck to -4 Wild Slash and +3 Lightning Strike +1 Fleetfeather Sandals. The Sandals help us get past the grindy decks on the ground, Elspeth tokens, Hornet Nests, and they give haste for burst damage.
