Thus Simic Charm . However, I might take out a couple more things for Path to Exile or Detention Sphere .

+1 from me, this is just disgusting! I really have nothing else to add. Perhaps cut the sideboarded Silent Arbiter down to 2x and put in 2x Stoic Angel s. The two of them work insanely well together. But even then it's just a personal thing, not really anything that's a necessary change.

Cheers, I'm glad you like it. I would sideboard Stoic Angel if it weren't for 2 things:
1) She doesn't allow me to untap mana dorks.
2) She still lets my opponent attack with untapped creatures.
I personally much prefer Silent Arbiter , but thanks for the advice.

+1 from me. Personally can't say I would change much other then a few Knight of Glory in the sideboard against black decks. Gives you just another way to get that evasion. Your deck has given me some idea's on how I'd like to go if I ever decide to go with blue, it's something that I would like to do but I'm too cheap to get the Noble Hierarch lol. Check out my deck Exalted Blades if you get a chance and let me know if you can think of any changes

Noble Hierarch and Geist of Saint Traft are pretty much a shoe in for this deck. Geist gets bumped off of exalted trigger and so does the token... so follow me...T1 -> Noble, T2 -> Geist -> T3 -> Drop Sublime Archangel then swing on T3 with a 6/6 Geist and a 8/8 Flying Token... 14 damage on turn three looks pretty hot! even if you replace the Sublime drop with two exalted critters like Aven Squire and Qasali Pridemage, you still get a 5/5 geist and a 7/7 angel.... I think you should really put him in here, I would personally take out two Birds of Paradise , and 2 rancors and go for it.
The BOP's are really not necessary if you get the landbase, you're call but their taking up space that could be used to own face or protect yours... I also think you could really use a bit more removal for the oppositions deck. I love the idea, but if someone has answers to your stuff, say American midrange or jund you will struggle to keep enough board presence to really do much of anything... Find a way to pounce... I like the Genesis Wave option or something that puts stuff out there if they've killed off your dudes and you're handless. In a deck that requires board presence, you really need some kind of a restocking strategy. even if it's way expensive... like a Sphinx's Revelation or something... IDK, hope some of this helps

I don't think the angel token gets the bonus from exalted. Exalted says" whenever a creature attacks alone, that creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn". Since technically the geist attacks alone before the token is put on the battlefield he activates the exalted effects of the other cards, but the token shouldn't get any benefit because he wasn't the one attacking alone. Additionally if Sumblime Archangel was on the field when the geist attacked then the token would come into play with exalted, but it wouldn't even activate because your creature had already attacked.

You're right, I'm sorry I stumbled over that rule, I was very tired and didn't think about the stack as well as I should have. The geist gets the bump from exalted triggers already on the battlefield, the angel would have exalted but because it comes into play after attackers were declared it would neither bump the giest or receive the bump itself. so pretty much you just boost the geist and then twack them with a 4/4 angel to boot. Thank you for the correction... but you gotta admit the geist+Exalted is still pretty baller!

Oh yea for sure. The Geist would be sick in this deck.
July 10, 2013 1:17 p.m.
But... Would make it even more obscenely expensive for this guy to get...
July 10, 2013 3:15 p.m.
Staples of modern cost money... he's already running Noble Hierarch and Elspeth, Knight-Errant , worst case you buy em and sell them later, I really doubt they're ever going to drop.

@JN1K5
Although Geist of Saint Traft is pretty beefy, I'm not sure if he really fits in this particular deck. Even if I did run him, I'd only run 3 at max, maybe 2, just because he's legendary, but I don't know what I would take out to put him in. I don't want to take out BoP as he's a fantastic on turn 1 and removing him would upset my curve. Besides, BoP is basically my favourite card of all time. How about -1 Qasali Pridemage , -1 Sublime Archangel , +2 Geist of Saint Traft ? At a push, I could remove 1 more Simic Charm or Distortion Strike , but I'd rather not.
July 11, 2013 11:39 a.m.
Yeah, that sounds great! Don't take out Distortion Strike for sure b/c that goes really well with Geist of Saint Traft s. but yeah, you pry don't need 4 Pridemages, you can board the extras and you'll be good to go!

Ok, I'll give that a trial run and see what happens.
July 12, 2013 11:58 a.m.
The geist is a nice 3-drop, but he kills the exalted whenever he attacks. Right?
July 26, 2013 6:04 a.m.
megawurmple says... #17
Nope, he does not. When he attacks, the Angel trigger and the Exalted trigger both go on the stack, but you choose which order to trigger them. If you trigger the Angel first and the Exalted second, the Exalted will resolve first and only see 1 attacking creature. Therefore, it will give Geist of Saint Traft the bonus. Then the Angel resolves and comes into play tapped and attacking and you get a boosted Geist and a 4/4 Angel.

love it. i've played against basically a legacy version of this and it was very good. + from me.

Cheers, I'm glad you like them. These 2 are my brain children. I have been working on them both for quite a while.

Just took a quick look back at your deck and I love how it's changed, I playtested it and 2/4 times I had a geist swinging as a 4/4 on T3, It's fun! I do wish there was some more draw though, with blue that shouldn't be too tough.

I'm glad you like it. I'm considering Sphinx's Revelation in the sideboard for a bit of draw against decks that like to slow the game down a bit. What do you think?
August 13, 2013 3:57 a.m.
IDK Your sideboard is actually pretty good, I think that's a good idea if you find yourself needing to draw and needing life, Otherwise it'll pry just bog down your deck and make it run slower. You're doing your board correctly right now in that you're running cards that help you play against specific card match-ups. Generally speaking you want your board to either protect the way you play your deck against cards that muddy that water, or hurt a different deck. you may want to consider Spellskite in place of the finest hours, this helps against twin/kiki decks as well as gives you some sweet protection against removal of your good dudes. An Ethersworn Canonist vs. Storm decks, goblin decks, anything with git probe, revamps of second breakfast etc. would be a really solid option and lastly, Aven Mindcensor is stellar in Modern in general particularily against fetch lands.
I'd also like your opinion on a deck of mine that I just built if you wouldn't mind it's linked here U/W/B Tempo-Control Combo
