The carnival deck. Occurring once every ten years it is a deck in which various tales cross paths. It transcends obligations, adult circumstances, and morals. A new dimension where those who have never played a visual novel can experience the entertainment of a visual novel while playing commander. As a choice of life it could be considered wild, in another sense it could be considered unlucky. Now let us enjoy this fleeting carnival deck. If your wondering what that all meant basically it's starting.
Kimi to issho ga ichiban suki yo tte motto gyutto ne- Stop! Stop! Disclaimer I am not Kinoko Nasu and thusly do not own type-moon that is all. On to the deck tech.
All right basically this is a grixis control deck that is themed to simulate and parody visual novels in which you the player who I will refer to as Johnny, Combo Player get to have the fun of trying to take one or more of the heroines' routes featured in this deck.
Common route before you actually manage to get onto one of the heroines routes your going to have to start here where you basically are stuck playing lands, along with some cheap control and card draw spells to keep you going until you can get one of the heroines on to the field.
Route 1: Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge, your commander and the main heroine of this deck having the easiest route to take due to the ease of playing her from the command zone once you have the mana available. Jeleva is your stereotypical dandere character quiet and sweet she is happy just to come into play exile yours and your opponents cards from play off the top of their decks and start reading those exiled spells however if you start working on her route and attacking your opponent(s) with her she would be quite happy to discuss those exiled spells with you and even let you play an instant or sorcery spell from among them for free.
Route 2: Linessa, Zephyr Mage your standard tsundere mage she may act tough but as we can't use her grandeur ability in edh play she is a relatively fragile heroine cable of letting you pump out mana to return either a creature threat on an opposing player's battle field to their hand to open a pathway to attack or even to bounce 1 of the heroines to the safety of your hand to be played again latter.
Route 3: Uyo, Silent Prophet is the emotionless kudere heroine of this deck who in the late game can let you copy your most potent spells at the cost of an extra 2 mana and returning 2 of your lands to their owners hand.
Route 4: Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief is your sweet ganbare girl always trying her hardest and getting better the more mana you have to put into her able to act as both removal and a powerful attacker especially in the late game.
Route 5: Ghoulcaller Gisa the yandere of this deck she truly loves you and has no problem killing anyone who may get in her way including the other heroines who if you take her route may just get killed off for a quick efficient way to pump out some zombie tokens which actually works quite nicely if you want to restart Jeleva's route with a fresh set of exiled cards to try to cast for free.
Route 6: Phage the Untouchable is the near unapproachable heroine who you don't even try to raise flags with or even play till late game when you have the board under control and want to push through for a win as attempting to take her route any earlier tends to result in a bad end where you make yourself a giant target.
Route 7: Wydwen, the Biting Gale your loli imouto type character who tends to just keep coming back to you no matter how much you ignore her but can be handy as a decent creature.
Route 8: Olivia Voldaren that character who had feelings for you for quite some time but that you didn't know existed before she became a vampire and started turning all your opponent's creatures into vampires. (basically Satsuki Yumizuka)
Route 9: the hidden route of Ash Zealot that side character who is more of a background character who you wouldn't think has a route but apparently does because sometimes it's nice to have a simple creature who can just swing once your controlling the board. Mabey it's more of a side route like what Sasami had in the original little busters visual novel before she got a full route in little busters ecstasy.Either way there you have it an mtg deck based around the concepts of visual novels.
