SynergyBuild I already have a lot of the expensive cards so it can go up a fair amount in price, do you think I should I should turn it into black green?

Been looking into it, The Gitrog Monster feels like the right commander for the deck. It allows you to sacrifice lands for cards, drawing a ton in the process. Builing the deck with a lot of tutors for Vraska, some good value effects like Ramunap Excavator, Avenger of Zendikar and Rampaging Baloths for wincons, and some other effects for support like Assassin's Trophy and you are golden!

I find your lack of Dakmor Salvage disturbing...

Yes, with a discard outlet and Dakmor Salvage, along with an eldrazi like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Lotus Petal, you can loop your deck infinite times Mapk.

Remember though, this requires a lot of cards that this deck doesn't run, and so isn't specifically useful. Remember that the commander of this deck really is Vraska, from a deckbuilding standpoint.

There is no harm in mentioning it @SynergyBuild. It is a very synergistic card with gitrog and does not require one to run the combo package in full or in part, nor does it interupt any plans involving Vraska. In fact, it is a prime target for her +2 and could draw him two cards + dakmor with frog on the field.

You can list Vraska as the commander, just put in your decklist:

Sadly elgosu1337, the commander technically can't be Vraska, Golgari Queen. xander11 simply wants to tutor it out pretty often when playing, and build around it.

elgosu1337 yeah only creatures and very specific Planeswalkers can actually be the commander for decks. So Gitrog is the commander and Vraska is the leader of it all

xander11 Oh right, I misinterpreted what you wrote and thought that your playgroup allowed Vraska as a commander.

I'm flattered that you thought of me to help you. Golgari may not be my strong suit, but I'll try to help.

It seems to me that if you want to kill with Vraska than a token sub-theme might be a good idea. Off the top of my head I can think of Izoni, Thousand-Eyed and Ishkanah, Grafwidow for this. If you can get poison counters Phyrexian Swarmlord is good, same with Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons if you can get some counters dropping. Craterhoof Behemoth and Beastmaster Ascension along with Swarm Guildmage and Undercity Uprising are some good support for this.

I mean seriously, if you are gonna go Vraska go all the way and include Vraska, Relic Seeker. This Vraska pairs well with Vraska, Golgari Queen and helps with the token sub-theme with her pirates. Also, Vraska's Stoneglare is just great since it kills something and goes and finds Vraska.

Ritual of Soot, Status / Statue, Deadbridge Chant, In Garruk's Wake, and Painful Quandary are just some cards that I like.

Lastly Triumph of the Hordes is just an amazing alt win-con (if you want to go that rout).

• Life from the Loam: has almost perfect synergy with your commander;
• Grave Pact: makes opponents think twice about wiping your tokens and works wonders in conjunction with Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest;
• Crucible of Worlds: Ramunap Excavator in artifact form.

Just an edit when I suggested Vraska's Stoneglare, I wasn't really thinking and suggested the Planeswalker deck tutor (oop, LOL). You could add Vraska, Regal Queen and still use it though; I feel like Vraska, Regal Queen could have potential in the deck.

Just had to fix that mistake, I realized it a few hours after I posted.

Eternal Witness and Green Sun's Zenith are two generally good cards that you probably want in your midrange green deck. Also, since you’re on a tokens/Planeswalker plan, you definitely want Doubling Season in here somewhere.

Howdy. An interesting deck idea you've here with a "hidden" commander.

Tutors

Since she starts the game in your library, I'd recommend including more ways to grab Vraska out early.

Vampiric Tutor, Cruel Tutor, Imperial Seal and Grim Tutor are on the pricier side.

Dimir House Guard synergizes pretty well with the deck, acting both as a tutor for Vraska, Sac-outlet and a 2/3 beater with embedded evasion.

Lands

32 lands and a few mana rocks/dorks and ramp spells may be insufficient for you. I'd up the land count slightly. Gaea's Cradle is always awesome in token based decks but it's price is exorbitant these days...

Recursion

Since Vraska ain't your commander, she can't be put back to the "Command Zone" when her loyalty drops to zero. Noxious Revival could act as a redundancy for Regrowth.

Alternate Wincon

Overwhelming Stampede, Overrun, Craterhoof Behemoth and Garruk Wildspeaker could buff your tokens up for an Alpha Strike if your Plan A fails.

I would say that this deck has moved so far from tokens, it is has nothing to do with them. Overall, all the combos are ok. I would start by getting rid of all tokens-related cards:

Have you considered Izoni, Thousand-Eyed or Buried Alive, Entomb or Dread Return? My first EDH deck was a golgari one and I found huge success with those cards (minus Izoni because she hasn't been out long).

Avacidal_maniac I did think about using Izoni, Thousand-Eyed and while getting a lot of tokens is nice it doesn't help the deck out very and pulls away from it's focus. I do like the three put to the yard spells your mentioned and I'll try to find a good place for them

You might want to add Grave Pact in case dicate gets destroyed

I like Entomb but i like Buried Alive more. A bit of a janky include but Tombstone Stairwell can close out games. I would sub out 2 swamps for a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and a Cabal Stronghold I dont know what Phyrexian Devourer Is doing in here, but you could sub it for an Oath of Ghouls for recursion, or Molderhulk for a big body and semi ramp.
