Really nice build you've got going on, I'm surprised to see Bojuka Brigand actually seeing use haha. I read your blog post, and I have the same qualms I have with every ally deck, what happens when you run out of steam? Obviously you've got 31 creatures, so you're going to be able to keep a steady supply incoming, but if you don't get an AEther Vial out on turn 1 or 2, or worse it gets taken by Inquisition of Kozilek, Thoughtseize, Abrupt Decay, etc...you have no way to protect your allies at instant speed, thus being vulnerable to falling behind a burn/junk/control deck. A Supreme Verdict will put you in the same spot.

Keep in mind I'm only speaking from my own experience with all-in ally decks. Those problems are why I switched to a more midrange deck. You said you've had a lot of success with it, so if you'd care to go more in depth about how you tend to play against those types of decks, I'd be able to translate that information to new players through the primer. I definitely think I will include this in the primer page though, I've never seen a successful 5-color build.

Thanks dude. Yeah, its been a work in progress. Feel free to include this in your primer. I'm actually playing a tournament with it now online....and man, I JUST CURB STOMPED BOGGLES. That felt sooooo good.
The caverns tend to fill in the gap against counters. I bring in Return to the ranks against Junk/abzan/jund. Side boarding is tough for me though. lol. Lets talk some more. Oh, and you're welcome to put this in your primer.-Aubrey

I just went 3-1 again tonight with my all-in-allies! I beat twin, machines, and black white tokens. Hopefully it will get posted online.

I made a play mistake, so i think i coulda gone 4-0. Anyway, I just wanted to post this so you guys would know the deck is tier 1 compatible.

I saw that! Pretty awesome, I'm glad someone was able to prove that allies can actually compete at the top level.

DSJJ, so I put in Athreos and Kira to better utilize the collected company. I will try Gambit, but I will have to figure out what should come out.

aubman02 coco is a better choice for board position if you can consistently hit 4 mana. If not Gambit is a good way to refuel your hand for grinder games. I'm testing 4 coco on my deck list and may play 4 coco + 1 gambit if I really lack the refueling.

by the way, a good sideboard tech which you may want to consider: Hibernation

Would like to point out that Collected Company + Jwari Shapeshifter is dangerous, as you can't put the Shapeshifter on an empty board with it.

I haven't had a problem with that yet. The current version here I'm not too happy with. I'm still tooling around with it. I don't like the guy from Italy's deck completely but I think we have similar ideas. You need druid to consistently cast, which we both came to the same conclusion.

Jwari shapeshifter may be on the cutting board if I go to 28 cards, which i have online.

I'm honestly stuck on the coco thing: I don't know how to make the deck good and still include hardened scales, vial, and coco. I think you need the extra mana from the druid to keep coco from being a dead card but it waters down the synergy and makes it hard to put spells like path or vines of the vastwood. Any thoughts?

4 lands from 20-card land base is quite okay actually. because we have aether vials, it's less taxing on the mana base. We can try 21 lands, +2 more ally cards?

What do you think of the new adended list?

August 20, 2015 2:24 p.m.

Actually just go all-4 collected company if possible. I've cut 1 hardened scales to 3 pieces. The idea is that 1 piece is the most effective in terms of cost when you cast them. We want that in t1-2 for the best effect. Top-decking that in late game is really bad. I rather have collected company.

On a side note, I'm contemplating to play the new ally. maybe as a 2-off in replacement of Umara Raptor

Soooooo......I brought this deck to the tournament practice area and had no less than 4 ppl quit on me game one. The deck didn't fizzle, it did quite well....man, ppl need to be more tolerant of 'non-tier 1 decks'. smh...definitely peeved me off...

August 24, 2015 7:39 a.m.

LOL... Imagine having a tier 2-3 deck trashing their tier 1 decks left, right and centre... That's the problem with people who net-decks. All uses the top tier decks and can't conform to minor meta changes

xxDSJJxx, I think i need to look at some of your and other's allie brews(terribly worded). Right now, what I've noticed the weakness is to get mana screwed. (but not color screwed)Play mistake wise, I think I neglect to flood the board. Instead I will play one creature at a time and play into the hands of a lot of removal.
I don't think I've figured out how to sideboard properly with the deck now that I have coco... for instance, would i ever take out coco? and I've brought in stony silence for machines, since they seem to edge me out by just a little, but i discovered I should never take out aether vial, so maybe take out evangel instead....I think tho path has a permanent place in the main board; it removes a one creature blocker, prevents combo. With all that said, I think I will be bringing it the dailies within a week. Its pretty good right now...

August 26, 2015 1:18 p.m.

Against machines, auto -4 Evangel. They are worthless. I personally board in Ondu Cleric, Stony Silence and nature's claim against them. It worked well against them. ondu cleric's lifegain + the artifact hates will grind them out. They lose steam quickly once they reach t6 onwards. They may have etched champion and master of etherium, but we can outrace them quick.

I haven't have much issues in mana. Except for the games last wednesday. I went 0-2 due to bad luck; mana jam and not getting the right cards out in time. i.e, coco had only 1 target, tempo-cards bounced my creatures timely, and again, mana jam.

But in most games, I am hitting 3-4 mana without issues. Maybe I'll consider 21 lands + 2 other allies if new block has good allies if I'm getting more mana issues.

August 28, 2015 12:55 p.m.

Allies depend heavily on each other. It's okay to extend the board, but if you know they are preparing for a boardwipe, don't overextend.
