though interesting, I dont think it is strong enough to pull its weight in my deck. I am not too keen on forcing people to sac their lands, as that is a great way to make enemies. I only tend to blast problematic lands like Maze of Ith or Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth/ Cabal Coffers

Noose Constrictor for another solid discard outlet in the vein of Wild Mongrel, except it gets bigger at twice the speed!
Also in keeping with your theme, I highly recommend Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Every little bit of him is relevant to your deck's strategy. Got lots of big beaters and mana but a clogged board? Sac them to Jarad for near-uncounterable lifeloss! Did he get killed off or dredged up early in the game? Sac two lands to draw a card and scoop him up!

+1 Deadbridge Chant, it is a good way to jump-start the dredge machine. Its upkeep ability will either get you a free creature or land to discard/sac. It's definitely something I will be adding to my Gitrog deck once I have one.

Hello there, here some suggestions that might be interesting for you:
January 20, 2017 4:55 a.m.
Played against a Gitrog deck the other night, he was running Fleshbag Marauder and it was a pretty big thorn in our side as he was able to keep bringing it back and cost us creatures. It's worth considering.
Otherwise, great deck. +1 from me

All hail the Gitrog! Love the deck, I personally Run the Frog God aswell. and I must say the cards I run to the most and I actually don't see in yours Avenger of Zendikar Tooth and Nail and the big finisher himself Craterhoof Behemoth. I love to Search with Tooth and Nail with those two baddies. With some set up from Titania, Protector of Argoth and countless others its usually the game ending turn. :)

Fun deck, Centaur Vinecrasher is amazing in there. I was wondering, why the Alhammerret's Archive?
March 23, 2017 7:29 p.m.
The Alhammarret's Archive is there to make my draw power even better. Also, I have very limited lifegain, so being able to capitalize on what little I have by doubling it is very good.

Okay, I can see why you play it, I love its second ability with your general's second. Sorry, didn't see that synergy the first time

Savra, Queen of the Golgari and Deathrite Shaman Might be good in some situations here probably obvious but good in almost any form of golgari deck
March 30, 2017 10:04 p.m.
I actually don't think Savra, Queen of the Golgari is that great in this list, and here is why: I'm not sacrificing my creatures that much. If she said something about lands, I would be all over that. But as is, I am mainly running Ashnod's Altar to dodge people trying to steal my stuff.
Deathrite Shaman is possibly going to end up in here as pinpoint graveyard removal for reanimating threats.
Thanks for the suggestions!

This golgari deck is...unfamiliar to me to say the least. I'm not a big fan of land destruction and land recursion, mainly because it's not something I'm used to. But I know of a good combination with meren and the Bog Monster himself:
Meren of Clan Nel Toth + The Gitrog Monster + Dryad Arbor that will bring out creatures from your graveyard fast! And that is just silly recursion, along with a Deadbridge Chant because you need more recursion! Your graveyard is your hand! And it is so much fun! 83
Of course, this is my opinion because I prefer meren but I would use Meren as the commander and the Gitrog monster will be in the library which you can tutor for with ease. It's what I would do because I love the girl. She's so good!
Hope you find my advice helpful. 83

Braids, Cabal Minion is super annoying to play against and so much fun!
both Vraska the Unseen and Pernicious Deed are great removals.
Looks like a fun deck!

This is a really solid deck, I have to say I have never had a lot of success with this commander but you really seem to have this down. Do you think that you may want to add some land recursion since you sacrifice so much of it?
May 23, 2017 1:46 p.m.
Entari0 I love the deck! I agree with your assessment of cutting Rune-Scarred Demon. I would generally run that if blinking was possible. With Hour of Devastation released, I would consider adding Cabal Coffers + Hour of Promise since you already run Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. Ramunap Excavator seems to be an auto-include but correct me if I'm wrong. You seem to be able to synergize well with deserts so I believe that Hostile Desert, Dunes of the Dead, Desert of the Glorified, Desert of the Indomitable, Ifnir Deadlands, and Hashep Oasis all deserve a good look at getting into the deck. Overall though, nice work!
July 21, 2017 3:42 p.m.
Thanks for you feedback, Hansenl! Cabal Coffers is mainly not there because, at the moment, between starting school in a week and not having very much money to spend right now, I have not been buying more cards, and it is not a particularly inexpensive card on its own. That said, I definitely want to at least try it in the deck. My main fear is that, with a grand total of 7 cards with swamp on the type line without Urborg in play, it may make me a threat without gaining me a particularly large lead. If I add it, I will certainly consider Hour of Promise.
As for Ramunap Excavator, he is already in the 99.
I agree, Amonkhet's deserts are probably a good idea, but I am not particularly fond of them. Other than potentially Hour of Promise, I do not have any desert synergies, so the desert on the type line doesn't gain me that much. for that reason, Desert of the Indomitable and Desert of the Glorified are simply worse than the other cycling lands, as they cost one of their associated color and one generic to cycle, whereas the others cost either 2 generic or one of their associated color. The two spell deserts, Ifnir Deadlands and Hashep Oasis rely on other deserts to function, and their abilities are frankly somewhat lack luster, particularly because they can only be used as sorceries. This brings us to the first two you mentioned, Hostile Desert, a manland, and Dunes of the Dead. of them, I think the dunes are the strongest in the deck, because, despite my not using other deserts, it does not loose any of its utility, and if I use it, it will be sacrificed frequently. Hostile Desert, on the other hand, is anti-synergistic to the deck, as I want my lands in my graveyard to be available at all times, not in exile.

I'm not very familiar with The Gitrog Frog's strategy, however I know netting the most card and board advantage is crucial part of winning. Looking at the best primer I can find for the general, there are many improvements you can make with this deck. Putrid Imp goes best with Dakmor Salvage while Gitrog is on the field for an infinite mill and library reshuffling. If you have Dark Ritual, you can float infinite black mana and channel that into a win condition.
Moving on, I believe your curve could be fixed and your CMC avg. could be lower. There are cards I'd add in place of the ones you currently have. For instance: Dark Confidant, Sylvan Library, a lot of mana dorks like Fyndhorn Elves, Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, Birds of Paradise, Deathrite Shaman, Arbor Elf, and Elves of Deep Shadow. Ramping into Gitrog is good. Sylvan Scrying gets you Salvage. Play more tutors to increase the consistency of your deck. There's a lot more I could recommend than what I can type, so I'll leave a link to the Gitrog primer.

I play the gitrog monster myself, so here are some suggestions based on my personal choices...you can play fewer lands, you don't need to draw a lot. Actually you only need the commander and something that lets you discard for free amd Dakmor Salvage. I would therefore play all the available creatures with cmc 1 and 2 that let you discard.
In my own deck I usually win by pulling off the dredge combo and generating infinite mana with Lion's Eye Diamond. With Kozilek the deck can be shuffled and you can continue milling until you have everything you want. For example Dread Return on Psychosis Crawler means you kill all opponents in the process of dredging and drawing through your deck repeatedly.
I think you can cut dome of the creature removal because you will always be faster than any aggro deck and there are only few creatures that prevent your combo amd thus need to be removed. I use Archfiend of Ifnir instead of damnation for example and I use mass discard like Delirium Skeins and Chain of Smog because gitrog Monster doesn't care about discarding everything.

I would say put in Mox Opal it's metalcraft would be fine due to how many artifacts and one mana of any colour is nothing to sneeze at... Gilded Lotus is also something I would recommend, it's a bit pricey but the extra mana is very important... But keep Sol Ring the extra mana it gives makes makes everything worth it, you'll always have a need for generic mana and this satifies it always... If you're going to remove it, replace it with one of the two i mentioned above

Unfortunately, I'm not that great at EDH or Black/Green, but have you considered Tragic Slip instead of Fatal Push? Or is Fatal Push there for when token decks get too smug?

I see no reason for Golgari Signet to not just become Nature's Lore. The land enters untapped, you have Bayou and Overgrown Tomb to mana fix, Dryad Arbor if you need a body, and the land matters much more to your overall strategy than having an additional mana rock does.
Lord of Extinction gives you a fling condition with Jarad that requires fewer hoops to jump through. In a multiplayer game it doesn't take long for Lord of Extinction to grow large naturally even before factoring in your dredge and mill effects such as Life from the Loam and Mesmeric Orb. If you add Lord then I would also recommend adding Rogue's Passage. You have multiple ways to tutor for lands and it gives you an additional way to leverage Lord of Extinction as a win condition. Your Commander's body is also large and Rogue's Passage doesn't hurt on that front either.
If you don't want to play additional tutor effects, I get it. You touch on it lightly in the deck's description, but Demonic Tutor would obviously be a welcome addition. In the vein of powerful redundant effects I'm going to also recommend Regrowth in addition to Eternal Witness. The cards are powerful generally, but I think their stock goes up even higher in a deck like this where you are often milling yourself.
Sylvan Library and Abundance are both great enchantments that help improve your card quality and even combo together.

Entari0, I do like your deck, it seems very well put. (I'm pretty envious of the foils you have for this deck!) I do agree with you that you can take out Sol Ring in favor of something more stable. I was thinking of Omnath, Locus of Mana as you can tap your green mana producing land before you Sacrifice them for fun, and just hold onto it until you need them.

Thresher Beast is a nice thing to swing at opponents, either they take 4 life (before you boost it with something else) or they sac a land
