This sliver based deck is the ultimate in overloading the board. Each sliver gives its own abilities to each other: Lifelink, poison, regenerate, mana add, library search, and so on.... Hivestone allows me to utilize the creature tokens and turn them into slivers as well. If all else fails I can Planar Cleanse then use my elixir to reshuffle everything back. The reason I chose basic lands are so I can play more than one per turn with Exploration then turn them into any mana color I need with Prismatic Omen. Just for kicks if I am playing someone with mostly non-basic lands I can play From the Ashes to mana screw them.
