Alchemist's Refuge —April 30, 2015
Well today I get to feel like a moron. Stumbling through different modern decks when I come across a land I don't recognize: Alchemist's Refuge. Now I don't know if any of you have read my Primer, but in it I emphasize how important it is to be able to cast allies at instant speed. And yet SOMEHOW I never came across this card.
It's not going to break the deck into winning GP's or anything, but that ability will help the consistency of my deck a lot. It will allow me to save mana during my opponent's turn, and since I'm running a Jank deck that has blue, they don't know if I have counterspells.
Most common thing I expect to use this for is casting Tracker's Instincts at Instant speed, but we'll see how it plays out.

Not a good idea canterlotguardian. The ideal amount of creatures one should be using to make Collected Company worth the while is around 24. This person runs 22 creatures, the bare minimum one should have the company in for.

Hmm you're right about that, I guess. I was just going off the fact that the Instincts only hits one creature and puts it into your hand, while the Company hits 2 and dumps them directly into play.

Tracker's Instincts costs less though. You can do it earlier for a much larger advantage. And if it goes into the grave, you can still cast it again.

Femme_Fatale is correct. While Collected Company is a fantastic card, at 4 CMC its pretty heavy in Modern. Tracker's Instincts is useful at every stage of the game, and continues to be of use while in my graveyard. Collected Company acts like more of a win-condition in this deck, to be used only at the perfect moment, while Tracker's Instincts nets me advantage whenever I need it.

With a majority of your allies being CMC3 or less, I'd drop a Tracker's Instincts in favor of a fourth Collected Company.
