Are you enjoying your new soul mate (snatched courtesy of Soul Ransom and don't want to give them back? Don't worry about it! Keep their hands low by sacrificing/destroying your Drainpipe Vermin during their upkeep (to Cartel Aristocrat or with Rapid Hybridization or Devour Flesh. Get your little 'piper back on the field with Orzhov Charm or maybe you were lucky enough to snap a Gift of Immortality on him.

or scenario 2 without Drainpipe:

"It's mine!" ( Soul Ransom )

"No, it's mine!" ( Soul Ransom 's activated ability)

(In best mom voice) "If you can't share then neither of you can have it" plops a Rapid Hybridization or Devour Flesh or Orzhov Charm (returning both Soul Ransom and creature to their respective hands)

or maybe you just dropped a Pithing Needle hollerin' at the homie Soul Ransom and avoided the first two scenarios altogether (though with this deck, you'll often find it to your advantage to give your opponent the opportunity to activate its ability.

Drainpipe Vermin on T1 (or T2 if playing against heavy removal). Let your opponent attack with a 2 or 3 toughness creature and either block for the discard ability or sacrifice to Rapid Hybridization and kill their creature as well.

Getting desperate in your late game? Play a Fate Foretold on an opponent's creature and then steal it with with Soul Ransom .

Gift of Immortality is so strong with both Auramancer and Drainpipe Vermin not to mention your strapping hunk of a hellspawn, Desecration Demon.

Auramancer is always happy to return your sacrificed Fate Foretold s, Soul Ransom 's or other destructively powerful enchantments to your hand should they get destroyed or discarded.
