Maybeboard

So, this deck is a commander deck that is made with a few restrictions for amusement.

1st restriction: TRUE singleton. none of this silly "can have more than 1 of a basic land"

2nd restriction: use as much of the "you win the game" effects as viably possible, then use two more.

3rd restriction: use "cannot lose" effects to stay alive instead of things like creatures.

here's a listing of "Win the game" effects, and whether they are in the deck or not:

Amulet of Quoz NO--stupid card, even if it weren't banned in everything, and only usable to ante anyways.

Azor's Elocutors YES

Barren Glory YES

Battle of Wits NO--i tried to see how i could fit it in but the truth is, if I made this deck over 200 cards, it would be illegal, and never win a single game. and the combos with this card in a non 200+ deck are hard to pull off, require oodles of mana, and are tons of money.

Biovisionary YES

Celestial Convergence YES

Chance Encounter NO--requires a lot of support to get working, and i don't feel bad about it because of my friends coin flip deck that murders everyone. coin flipping is actually kinda broken. karak's thumb

Coalition Victory YES/NO I have a copy that I sub in if the playgroup allows it. Its banned in commander for some reason, and since I have only 10 basic lands in the whole deck usually its allowed.

Darksteel Reactor YES

Epic Struggle YES

Felidar Soverign YES

Hedron Alignment NO-- while a viable card just for the hexproof scrying, I'm not going through the effort of making it work, thus adding it to the deck would feel cheap- better to own up to the fact that I'm missing one of the alt wins.

Helix Pinnacle YES

Hellkite Tyrant YES

Laboratory Maniac YES

Mayael's Aria YES

Maze's End YES

Mechanized Production YES

Mortal Combat YES--note how many creatures are in my deck, and realize what i have to do in order for this to work. :)

Near-Death Experience YES

Test of Endurance YES

Door to Nothingness YES--technically not a "win the game" card, but basically is

Vraska the Unseen YES--same, technically not a win the game condition but a lose the game

Triskaidekaphobia YES--same, and can tie the game too!

Approach of the Second Sun WORKING ON IT-- luckily it doesn't need support, so I just need to get the card, and find something to take out

The maybeboard is full of cards either looking for a spot, or cards which might be viable

How the deck plays:

it is really hard to get a grasp of how the deck runs from looking at the card base online. here is a short summery.

It slowly builds up mana, rarely getting mana screwed; assuming this is a casual multiplayer game, it generally does not draw agro (the guy with lands and some weird win the game in 20 turns thing? or the one with Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger...)

once mid to late game starts, then generally things get desperate and the deck starts to get rolling. It will have hit a couple choice moments, where you have to decide which alt win you are aiming for (I usually have a plan a, b, and c)..Most likely there will have been some sort of search that can happen or has happened.

There is one of two things going on here usually. either things are desperate, and the deck is throwing tricks like Angel's Grace out to stay alive and hopes for an epic Barren Glory or Near-Death Experience. OR, things are going smoothly, life is moderately stable, other players are distracted, in which case the deck is going for any combo, but preferably the showiest or the most unexpected. Note that in the former case Child of Alara is invaluable.

Games usually end with something epic, either something like a Test of Endurance and an instant speed Renounce of entire field, or a slow painful death ending with a failed Near-Death Experience.

It is the deck I favor when doing large (6+ player) edh. to my surprise, it actually held its own in a couple of 1v1s, despite not being designed for that at all.

with luck others will be inspired by this deck and go on to make their own strange inventions, like something that uses counters on almost every card! (but no counters can be the same type!)

Updates Add

If you have looked at this deck before this date, know this: while most of the cards in this were in that, the whole deck got seriously revamped. it now has more like a 30% win rate in multiplayer edh (casual), which is quite decent. I'm refreshing the comments because they are no longer pertinent
