Sideboard

This is my current standard deck list that I have played at a couple recent fnm's. Overall I am going for a basic control style (since that is my favorite kind of deck). It has preformed very well actually. The times that I have lost were due to misplays, so I can't fault the deck on the loses. I am open to suggestions and just opinions in general. Now I will start explaining the cards in main board:

Aetherling: awesome creature in any deck running blue. Gives devotion to activate Thassa, can protect himself, out of mortar range, and just a staple in a control deck.

Syncopate: good counter, early, late, whenever, I like it.

Cyclonic Rift: I have been flip flopping between the rift and mortars. I like the rift due to the interaction with gods, instant speed, and the overload is usually a game ender.

Detention Sphere: awesome! I prefer this over O-ring (i know it isn't standard), deals with tokens like a boss, and planeswalkers alike. good card.

dissolve: good counter lets me scry away, pretty basic.

Jace: amazing! compareable to jtms when he was in standard imo.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion: one of the strongest cards in standard imo. tokens board sweeps, and a perma buff to my creatures..

Sphinx's Rev: self explanatory.

Supreme Verdict: board wipe.

This deck has changed quite a bit. Due to lack of cards, recommendations, as well as play testing. I have added way less creatures and more counters and card draw. I wish I had more sphinx's rev's but unfortunately I do not. So I have added warleader's helix just for creature removal and life gain.

2-1 at FNM tonight. The deck played very well for me.

First game: Played azorious devotion. 2-0'd him easy. He was unable to get rolling. Game one Assemble the Legion and Aetherling did work. Game 2 Elspeth owned him.

Game 2: played mono black. 2-0'd him as well. Controlled creatures with D sphere's and board wipes. There was no need for side board in game 2 since I didnt want to show anything just in case.

Game 3: faced a gruul monsters. He was one of the more veteraned players there. Unfortunately he just had too many threats for me to handle. I didn't get any D spheres. I think I should have better answers in the sideboard for this kind of deck. Some help would be appreciated for that.

Overall I had a good day at FNM with this deck. I liked the way it played for me.
