An Actually Good Budget Jund Deck (HELP)

Modern BRG (Jund) Budget Competitive

Hey everyone!

Yet another budget modern deck. Jund consists of my three favorite colors in magic: black, red, and green. So why not make a budget version? This deck has the potential to hold its own competitively while also being able to be upgraded into a tier 1 Jund Deck! This deck is amazing at systematically destroying your opponents hand, field, and even graveyard, while placing huge creatures that your opponents are forced to deal with or die trying. It's a really fun deck to play!

Note: I need some serious help with the mana base. After some games, it seems I'm always mana screwed; I either don't have enough or don't have the right colors. Help appreciated.

After looking at the list, I know some definitely have some questions, so here are some answers:

Managorger Hydra and Vinelasher Kudzu - Tarmagoyf copies, which I consider to be better than goyf in some cases. The hydra gets bigger based on number of spells, so if it stays on till late game it can become huger and scale much faster than a regular goyf. On top of that, the hydra has trample. Amazing right? The kudzu is amazing in this meta. In a time of fetch lands, green decks ramping, and EVERY deck needing to play lands on almost every turn, this creature can become a major powerhouse.

Sylvan Advocate - there are four man lands in this deck, which is quite an amount. This creature buffs them and itself, which is just amazing. The advocate becomes a 4/5 with vigilance, and the lands become super strong for such a cheap cost of changing them into creatures. Getting to six lands may seem a hassle to actually get to against an aggro deck, but with the amount of control this deck has, getting to six lands is easy-peasy.

Cunning Lethemancer - just copies Liliana of the Veil +1 ability.

Survivors' Encampment and Holdout Settlement - this may seem very controversial to many. These lands are simply to enable Pain Seer. I'm only running a few, so this will not set back the deck too much. I could use some help with this. Should I replace these with some Springleaf Drums or something else. Comment please!

Collective Brutality - I pulled one in a pack. :) Just put in another Duress if you don't want this.

Xenagos, the Reveler - this card I believe is a pretty great planeswalker. It helps ramp with its plus ability, its second is also pretty great, and its ultimate can make your opponent scoop. Another reason why I added this walker is to draw in opponent hate. They'll waste attacks and spells trying to kill this planeswalker, allowing you to get some more cards and win.

Golgari Charm - to counter boardwipes from your opponent.

I hope you enjoy this deck and share so more people can discover that you do not need to be a millionaire to build Jund, a great modern deck!

Thanks!-TankyHamster
