@BattousaiYngwie My list still uses Muse for the 5cmc Pod effect, but most competitive Derevi lists try to race out the 4cmc creatures for the win. Also, being a proactive taxing deck, we play few answers that play reactively at instant speed.

I wouldn't recommend Seedborn Muse "(Win-More-card)" in this deck as it is too slow and doesn't do anything for this deck... All it really does is make your symmetrical hate pieces even more asymmetrical while it takes up a slot for a redundant way of playing Derevi Because she can create that effect by herself fairly easily over the course of very few turns while keeping people locked out... And that at a borderline HIGH CMC... It doesn't stop anything and doesn't synergize well with a deck that doesn't have much instant speed interaction apart from Yisan, the Wanderer Bard ... (Also if you get to your 5TH verse you are most likely already winning and just going "Win-more" with Seedborn Muse ...)
Seedborn Muse will forever live in Prophet of Kruphix ’s shadow though.. Seedborn Muse is a card that I feel is on the cusp between Casual and Okayish/good but not broken...
Seedborn Muse works great in decks that can take advantage of instant speed spells. Even mono-green decks have options like Yeva, Nature's Herald or Yisan, the Wanderer Bard want to do things on each opponent’s turn because their decks are built around it.. It would make more sense if your list was a bit more control heavy but it doesn't have a home here!

Hey there mate, if your meta has a lot of Edric, Spymaster of Trest / Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive / Najeela, the Blade-Blossom / Krenko, Mob Boss token type decks or "Weenies" that just want to just slam you down with low beaters you might want to look at a bit more casual hate... Although our Hatebears have nice bodies that can deal with low power beaters fairly well like take for example Runic Armasaur is an excellent blocker but if they manage to get out of hand and snowball into a lot of tokens because other people are open, Cyclonic Rift is your go-to MVP!
( Meekstone is a bit more targeted to a casual meta but it might work sometimes and so could Reverence ... you just gotta tune your Derevi to your meta and perhaps my "sideboard could help you find a few cute cards to your liking!!)

(Under "CreatureStax" you might find some fun stuff)
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite surely deals with a lot of these decks but isn't always easy to get onto the battlefield that early apart from cheating her out with Loyal Retainers through either Survival of the Fittest or Fauna Shaman or just a genuinely explosive starts. But Edric and most of these decks still want to set up for their "Combo turn" be it extra turns or Infinite combat steps so you still need answers to that trough the form of Stax we are already using And just take some hits or prepare to block with this Creature heavy deck :).

Speaking of, Prime Speaker Vannifar might replace my worst-in-slot although I haven't spent much time testing her out. Not a fan of the "sorcery only" restriction.

Not running her yet (got a part about her in the primer and some comments back as well I think). But she has potential surely just not sold on it yet as POD still does it better!

I had not seen your sideboard section before, thanks for sharing! It definitely has some really interesting things going on and will be trying them out.

Am I living under a rock or is Verity Circle recent addition? Every Derevi deck is suddenly using it.
March 29, 2019 1:15 p.m.
Dankey synergizes well in the current meta for CEDH with a lot of cards
I find this card to be really strong at the moment and will remain a good tech for Derevi especially. If you would only manage one draw per turn you're still getting a very good deal while only costing you 3 Mana. If your opponents have mana dorks or any utility creatures you're going to drown in card advantage. and when they avoid tapping their utility creatures to starve you from free draws? Well, you just succeeded and taxed them for 3 mana.
Extras:
-
A hermit activation gives you a card and the Fatestitcher versions give you another wich potentially could draw your interaction...
-
Kiki will give you your deck if you wanted to (because of the may trigger)...
-
Derevi triggers will be able to generate you free card advantage if all creatures are not already tapped of course!!!
-
current toolbox cards and some combo cards like Yisan, Selvala, and so many more that require a tap effect will net you card advantage...
-
etc,etc...
hope that makes sense ;)

Will you discuss cards from the new set on here or on discord once they're all spoiled? I assume your analysis of the new Karn, the Great Creator was that it wasn't good for this deck?
April 10, 2019 1:38 p.m.
@oliveoilonyaasscureshemorrhoid I have a little part in my Primer near the bottom that says "New releases? New Stax?" You'll find what I feel and think about cards from new sets there. Although I don't really specify all the time whether a card is a must have or it is just plain bad, But I do this because I keep budget and other kinds of play outside of CEDH in mind too as people and meta are different...
Yet we do strife for a zero redundant CEDH deck here so the analysis you can make or assume to be correct goes as follows;
-
Is it in the decklist at the moment?
-
Why is it not(mostly expressed in the new release section and sometimes on new releases new cards aren't added to tapped out yet)?
-
Will my own Meta actually suffer more if I side it in for something mister Kiyomei is running but has absolutely no use in my meta (For example Hushwing Gryff is a meta call for me because of kiki's, Animar's, Yisan's, ETB good stuff, and so much more...)?
-
does the card really compare to what we already are running and that is kind of similar to it but for example cheaper or easier to cast? (Goes for Dorks or other things too)
-
Can it come down early in a game and stop a deck for a turn or 2?
-
Is it a dead card draw during the later stages of the game?
-
Can it actually block certain combo's by itself in some scenarios?
-
ETC,ETC,ETC,...
And you're always welcome to join the Discord! (If you scroll up you might find a discussion of certain new releases or you can always just ask away, plenty of Derevi pilots that can help and have experience!)

@Ryanh12 Hey, Simply said our win con is that of a hard lock... For example, Winter Orb + Trinisphere + Derevi, Empyrial Tactician and some simple mana dorks to attack with or other Stax creatures to go face with...
Generally, it is also known Derevi's win condition is not losing the game... and as soon as 1 person wins you lost as the second or third place don't matter...
This is only a very small example of different kinds of interaction or synergy each card has with each other in the deck and is very relevant and strong versus "true" CEDH combo decks... And for every CEDH deck, there is a card in here that could stop them from using their combo (This does not mean that the game is over for them as they can still remove pieces, but generally we keep adding until it becomes impossible to come back from hence a "hard lock Stax victory").
I advise you to go through the very primer I wrote if you wish to learn the details of the one and only not copied Derevi CEDH Stax list ;) (with an added sideboard to combat meta!)
(There is a section at the bottom where other people reply to a question I posted on every "True CEDH" deck as to what would stop them... And most of the kind authors of the relevant CEDH decks have answered to that question which I already knew the answer for but just so people can see it for themselves :) !!!)

what do you think of the new land for enchantment recursion
May 31, 2019 2:36 p.m.
Hall of Heliod's Generosity ? Well, it's very similar to Academy Ruins which we don't run in the first place. Might see a home in the Dankchantress builds A.K.A. enchantment heavy builds.
Why don't we run these kinds of things you'd ask?
Well, to be blunt, it is slow... but to go further into it the land base is built in a way we can consistently spam Derevi out turn 2 99% of the time. Adding a colorless land would bring those chances down significantly... on top of that those lands work better in builds that actively try to win trough artifacts or enchantments they lost and want back. Whereas in our case we can replace them by other hate pieces quite easily.
Again it sure could find it's home in enchantment heavy builds and what not. just nothing worth recurring apart from stasis locks perhaps. and we are not a combo deck looking to find both of these.

@ Fellin22, Its only game why you heff to be mad? <3
In my words though, and on paper 99% of the time, this is what you're looking to play at the very highest-power environment/meta ;). makes other decks look like trash indeed and is really well equipped vs bs ;).
@ Darth_Reven, Thanks !!! Sadly M20 doesn't have anything for us as far as I can recall, unless I missed something :'(.
July 4, 2019 9:41 p.m.
@ Limejuice , I have played around with Luminarch Ascension before in blood pod and tested it for a while in Derevi...
The difference with blood pod is that we aren't as centered around heavy tutors for Stax pieces and generally go for the beat-down plan far more often due to the fact we are very very creature heavy in 100% meta... Which makes the card a bit redundant and win more in many cases...
Although if you're playing around with i'd say 75% Decks/Meta or less you can definitely steal games with this as you won't need to be as fast as like for example vs a hulk heavy meta or just the most competitive decks.

@Kiyomei, hello, it's me again! Hope you don't mind me asking questions so often, it's just that the more I play the deck the more I find things I don't really know how to stop so I decided to ask the expert! haha
My main question is what do you against fast "weenie" decks? I'm mainly thinking of stuff like Edric, Spymaster of Trest and even at times, Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive , where they just dump their hands super fast and when I manage to start playing stax effects they are kind of far ahead and don't really care about my effects...
I think Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite should be the correct answer here but since she is so expensive to cast, by the time I manage to play her it might be too late, anyway, just wondering what your thoughts are against these kind of strategies.
