from user Jynkst:
Short form is that this deck is trying to do too much. You'd be better off picking one way to win, and focusing on what supports that (and provides a secondary win condition). Read 'The Rule of 9' in the sidebar to see where I'm coming from.
My version of this deck focuses on the interactions between Corpsejack Menace and Primordial Hydra. Primordial Hydra is capable of being a win condition by itself. Corpsejack Menace makes him ridiculous. I'd up these to four.
Bioshift + Corpsejack Menace is also ridiculous as it doubles the number of tokens in transit. This lets you do things like attack with the team and then slide 20 tokens from your hydra to something innoculous or unblockable.
After much dicking around, I've settled on Elusive Krasis in the 3-spot. It will block most aggro early, evolve my Gyre Sage, and acts as a great bioshift target late.
Gyre Sage is also wonderful in this deck - dropping a Corpsejack Menace immediately evolves him twice. In an ideal drop, you play Gyre Sage->Elusive Krasis->Corpsejack Menace->Primordial Hydra in that order, which lets you drop a 12/12 trampler on turn 5.
Whatever direction you go, you will have high value targets. You NEED a way to protect them, preferably cheaply because Simic is pricey early on. Mizzium Skin or Simic Charm is better than Dissipate IMHO.
I found that I liked Cloudfin Raptor over Experiment One because he provides some minimal air defense. He is a terrible late draw, though. I've also put Ulvenwald Tracker in this slot.
Things to take out:
Predator Ooze is going to be hard to cast with triple green required.
Your creatures create tokens on their own. Master Biomancer is incredible in most cases, but isn't offering a ton here.
Rancor is unnecessary if you focus on the Hydra or evaders.
So all these changes were made.
