The only thing I want to say is why in hell would they think they are winning?

In most games, I only have one or maybe two creatures out for the beginning, but then I start killing everything they have and build up a board presence.

Is Dreadbore better than Hero's Downfall , or are you using it because it fits your curve better? I personally prefer instant speed for one mana more, but I don't know how often it matters. Also, you have a pretty good spell count here, so Young Pyromancer might be worth it, although that does interfere with Anger of the Gods .

Hero's Downfall is not "just 1 more mana", it's 1 more B mana in a deck that wants to hit (W/R)(W/R)(W/R) That very same turn, then moves to BB the next, and on T5 WWBB, it's not only higher on the curve it conflicts with the mana enough to not make it worth playing over Dreadbore . Maybe in a B heavy core, but this list looks more W/R/b, but I can still see running it as Dreadbore 5-6 to get later in the game when the mana issues on color restriction becomes less relevant.

TheFrozenFox is right. It's the BB that keeps me from playing it. I do like instant speed a lot, but black is typically a limiting color for me. Also, there aren't many things that I need to hit instant speed that I can't already hit, except Obzedat (I have dark betrayal side boarded for him). I have considered putting it in for late game play, but I think I'd rather just stick with dreadbore.

1BB for instant speed or RB for sorcery speed. Thats what it really comes down to.

I decided to run both Dreadbore and Hero's Downfall to settle the problem!

Are you trying to push midrange/control or play aggro? I have a more control/midrange build in Dega Midrange, but I can't help unless I can see what you are trying to do here.
