I fused your concept with mine and turned my Vintage Deck into a Modern deck. I had the old Grindstone / Painter's Servant combo in there but it was old and obviously to easy to get out which is no fun. Your idea however is very fun when it comes out. +1 for me. Check out mine when you get the chance Murder by Mill.

Have you considered Staff of Domination ? This card could be amazing in this deck. Fetch it with your Drift of Phantasms , and use it to tap your Pili-Pala instead of attacking with him, that way you can attack with you huge ass Mindshrieker . There are so many other great uses for that card as well.

-MisterJ-: Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check your deck and see what it is capable of ;)
LordOfMishap: It's good that you got yourself inspired. What did you add to your deck? And well, about the suggestions... yeah Staff of Domination is a nice idea. Only issue right now is the price hahaha and well, I still have to test these new build (and the ones of my other 4 decks). I'm wondering how Mindshrieker is gonna work in here.
Thanks again to both of you for your feedback, points and ideas. Much appreciated!!

Uhhh where is the upvote :)
- 40cal Relax, I'm just kidding, I'm not gonna force you if you don't want to hahahah
The Boomerang was taken out in lieu of Echoing Truth . That card has proven to be the bane of Soldier and Token based decks... so not being able to bounce a land is worth it against the ability to destroy EVERY single "Soldier Token" in play.
And yeah, Vapor Snag or Unsummon ... to be or not to be... sometimes I encounter myself casting Unsummon on my own creatures and maybe losing life is not wise (I lose life very easily with this deck). I don't know if that 1 point of damage is that important against the opponent (considering that this deck is not likely to win by causing loss of life). What do you think?
March 12, 2014 2:03 a.m.
Busse Well in Echoing Truth < see what I did there :) no but I think Echoing Truth should be sideboard and same with Vapor Snag quite frankly if you know the deck your playing against you can alter the deck to your liking :)

I shall upvote within 2-5 hours very busy cannot be wasting 2.3 seconds of my day

Hhahahah idiot! But yeah, you are right, I should have Vapor Snag
under my sleeve. And maybe, considering I play this in multiplayer, it would be worth it. I mean, 1 damage is not much, but I have lost matches because I was 1 point short of firepower.
In my defense, by the way, the art of Unsummon
10th edition is way more classic and interesting :D

This looks awesome and the only concern here is that there is only one combo. Is it possible to add another one instead of the cards with transmute? Probably something that abuses Training Grounds and can utilize available creatures.
March 17, 2014 6:08 p.m.
- Mezriss Training Grounds is actually a good idea. Expanding the creatures may be difficult because that would make me drop some of the control spells... But I'll look into that for sure! Thanks for your feedback, and if you think of anything, I'd be Happy to read your suggestions! See you around

Unfortunately I didn't find any decent 2-part combo, but here are several ideas.
Infinite mana with Pili-Pala + Paradise Mantle + Training Grounds . Which is bad since it requires 3 combo pieces and isn't removing reliance on Pili-Pala . Good because it removes reliance on Grand Architect and works with 2 lands.
Infinite damage with Pili-Pala + Training Grounds + Hermetic Study . Bad because it's still 3 combo pieces and requires 3 mana to start on turn 3. But it's somewhat easier to fit into the deck - Hermetic Study will work fine with infinite mana as a replacement for Mindshrieker .
Another thing to consider in combo deck is Serum Powder , but your deck might be fine without it if you can control your opponent long enough to use transmute.

I played a Modern version of this for a while. I love how fast and consistent the deck is, and Brainstorm makes it so much better. Plus, I never get tired of the looks people give you when you slap down a Pili-Pala . Good times. +1 from me.

Why aren't you putting Vapor Snag ?? It's Unsummon with life loss for the same cost and speed.
Apart from that, nice deck!

@stealthmarking I don't think it would work as well, even though it is a low costing card that is also a heavy hitter because all of these cards are working off of another card. What I could suggest for the deck though are some more counterspells rather than unsummon spells. You need a few free casting counters like Daze for early games or Force of Will for late games also if you add 4 fetchlands you can make your Brainstorm act as Ancestral Recall So in my opinion take out the Rapid Hybridization in favour of either Daze or Force of Will and cut out 4 islands for 4 fetchlands, whichever ones are the cheapest. And take out the Blue Sun's Zenith for some room for more counters. And I think it's just me but I don't really like playing with equipment cards so much so I would cut out Neurok Stealthsuit for something more useful

I'm confused by the infinite mana. Am I mistaken or does that just infinitely tap and untap Pili-Pala . I don't see any generation of mana from doing this. Could someone please explain?
August 20, 2014 1:51 p.m.
You generate 2 colorless mana after you tap your Pili-Pala
through Grand Architect
, which also turned blue the artifact creature.
Now you have a tapped Pili-Pala
and 2 colorless mana on your mana pool. Next step is using those 2 colorless mana to untap the creature, and generating 1 blue/black/red/green/white mana.
After that you just have to repeat the process 1000 times.

Dr_Plops & Vergil_Redgrail & IRtoTiiLi: I'm glad you enjoyed the idea, let me know how it goes for you. Unfortunately, I'm being forced to change a little bit this deck because of it's unpredictability/instability... thing not so useful in my playgroup, at least. Cheers, and thanks for your support!!
Raging_Bull: thanks for the suggestions, although things changed now... so I'd be glad to read a comment from you regarding this new deck design. Thanks in advance!

I use the deck It Wasn't Really Expected To Infinite Combo in my local meta in Modern (I know you run this Legacy) with moderate success
