Don't forget about your rebounds. Also, how do you defend against a t3 counter on your Isochron Scepter or Lightning Greaves? or a t4 killcam on you squid if you haven't played the scepter? Just some things to think about.

i was thinking that the greaves gave the equipped creature Hexproof and haste, so I didn't pay attention to that, but the Lightning Greaves give shroud, you can't target your squid with the Distortion Strike if the squid has shroud! You can't target it with anything!

  • Antonius_Cleus: Hey man! Thanks for the head's up, I mixed that up too. But still, there isn't much of a problem, considering that you can Equip it, and cast the some of the buffs in response. Yes there will be some vulnerability, but hey, the Equip costs . I still have to real-test this deck, so I'll update it accordingly.

  • roboboy9000: Yeah, rebound is pretty awesome right? Yay for zendikar and it's broken mechanics. As I said, I still have to test it, but in any case, you could replace Split Decision with some Mana Leaks to increase the resilience and counter-potential of the deck

I would recommend at least Flooded Strand to have a good way to dump the Brainstorm cards you put back on top of the library.

Cool deck, if you were to port it to Modern what would it look like ?

I like the deck. I am not a Legacy player but it looks good otherwise. Good Luck and sacrifice the onion please.

Dennis14: You'd have to change Brainstorm into Serum Visions or similar (I used to like Preordain).
This deck is indeed fun, and suprisingly resilient.

Lutachris23: Yeah, that's an option... I'm working on the shuffling thing at the moment. Damned fetch lands are so damn expensive!

IzzetFanatic: Thanks for the love man, and well, there might be a video involving a sacrifice and an onion, so stay tuned for it! Hahahah

I'm always game for the sacrifice of subterranean plant matter.

Why only run one Halimar Depths? Would mid be a problem or is it just there for fun?

  • Postmortal_Pop: Mostly just for fun, it helps sometimes... but not being able to draw, throw the cards to the bottom of the library or such things makes it a less-than-optimal Island. So 1 for fun should do the trick. Maybe 2 could work, but for this you have Brainstorm :)

have you considered Ninja of the Deep Hours over jhessian thief? He would be faster to cast since you have a lot of stuff that makes creatures unblockable for his bushido abilty.

I'm giving it thought, I totally forgot about the existence of that card... although my reasoning has been the following:
The Jhessian Thief has prowess, which is very powerful in both offensive and defensive situations BUT costs 3 mana... the Ninja of the Deep Hours has ninjutsu, which is cool... but I'm not sure wether I like him (with his sneaky and stealthy skillz... Or the defensive body of the Thief.
to be sincere, I'm waiting for something cool to fill this space... Maybe something like Jeskai Elder or else. A intensive creature that does something on impact would be cool, both for the effect and the devotion towards Thassa, God of the Sea.
Cheers man! And thanks for making me think.
