I'd always recommend Avacyn, Angel of Hope in a deck that plays white, if you have access to one.

I feel like Geist of Saint Traft should be your commander instead of Bruna, Light of Alabaster . I don't know. Getting him out would be much easier than Bruna in that game, and he makes a pretty big early to late game impact. I'm not much of a commander guy though.

Or you could make it a Bant enchant deck over just Azorius. The Bant commanders aren't great, but Green has a lot of insane auras. Just a thought.

How about Ghostly Prison or Propaganda for some attack-deterrant?

I know this sounds random, but Archangel of Thune , maybe? I mean there aren't many ways to gain life in here (which there should be), but it is a lifelink flyer that gives +1/+1 counters to your creatures. It's like Celestial Ancient , but better!

Also, Forbidden Alchemy doesn't work in this deck because you don't have black, and that makes it's commander identity U/B.

No one mentionned it, but in every EDH deck there should be a Sol Ring , because it helps for mana ramp. I put one in each deck I create and it is really usefull, you should do the same.

artakha Just curious but could you elaborate some on why Geist of Saint Traft would be a good commander? It's an interesting idea.

I know I am not artakha, but I think I can answer why Geist of Saint Traft would be a better commander because I play EDH since a while now.

  • First, is converted mana cost is 3 instead of 6, and for a W/U deck with no mana ramp, this fact is significant.

  • You don't have a lot of creatures to attack with in your deck, and being able to attack with a 4/4 on turn 3 is a good idea.

  • A commander with hexproof is always right, because everyone always want to get rid of the commanders.

  • Bruna, Light of Alabaster being your commander, all the auras are attached to it, but now you would have reusable 4/4 creatures to play with also, even if they are exiled at the end of the turn.

I don't know if artakha have other answers, because I would like to see his own point of view on Geist of Saint Traft .

Bruna, Light of Alabaster can still be added to the deck after.

thegigibeast Thanks for your thoughts. Those are solid reasons to use Geist. I'm seriously considering it now. I would like to hear artakha's point of view as well.

i would suggest looking at my deck to see some cards you may like. One thing that i learned that may help is auras that don't really have a big impact shouldn't be played solely because bruna is your general. I wouldn't generally recommend having too many creatures that don't have synergy with bruna, but i have never tried it.

I would say that bruna can be as competitive as you want and could easily beat a Geist of Saint Traft deck, but people will realize your kill potential and they will target you no matter what you have on the field. this is why i have cards that defend me and make it less attractive to attack me.

by turn 6 or 7 you should probably have your win con ready and able to cast bruna. Cards that i like are Corrupted Conscience / Eldrazi Conscription , Battle Mastery , and Spirit Mantle .

Hope this helped. XD

I didn't say Archangel of Thune over Celestial Ancient ! D: I meant them both together. Also, I thought Geist of Saint Traft would be a better commander because of the lower mana cost, Hexproof and 4/4 angels.

Now that I think about it, if you really wanted to max out potential for counters AND auras, make it a bant deck. Best commander? Jenara, Asura of War . She would be an AMAZING commander. With stuff like Bioshift , you can shift the counters you put on her, and use them to maximize the potential for creatures like Hydras, plus green and G/W has enchantments like Rancor , Pollenbright Wings , and Indrik Umbra .

It would also allow you to put in Krond the Dawn-Clad , who utilizes Auras in an INSANE manner.

Zur the Enchanter is by far the best aura deck. although, he is ugly as f*** and i like angels.

You need Arcanum Wings . You swap it for a big aura like Eldrazi Concrition early game :3
Also, some mill could be added, because Bruna's ability attach cards from your grave to her!

I use Mirror-Mad Phantasm in my Bruna's Big Deck of Don't. It works very well to get enchantments into the graveyard.
