This looks like a really solid list I would personally drop 1 Cloudshift for 1 Restoration Angel as thea 3/4 body In here is worth a few more mana. card:Rogue's Passage isn't that great of a card could be better used as a green source or Grove of the Guardian . Thank you for your help on my deck +1

Thanks. I've added the adjustmentsg you mentioned. I do like the 3/4 flying flash. I'm merely curious if the 6 mana producers will be enough. to ramp into things. I suppose after some playtestings I'll know for sure. The card I'm most interesting in working with is Angel of Serenity . Play it, then Cloudshift before her ability resolves. Basically exile 6 creatures with 3 never being able to return. =)

It is a little harder to ramp up but your life gain will stall until then. The 3 of card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is really intensive on your mana base without all the dorks and its legendary I think most the time it could be fine but only testing will tell if it doesn't work out a second Entreat the Angels could fit nicely

Went to the midnight release and got a box with some friends. Managed to trade and pack nearly all of the cards I need. The only ones from ravnica left are 3x card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. I playtested this against a golgari and rakdos in multiway. Managed to save my ass with life gain and Armada Wurm . Champion of Lambholt was bumped up to 11 with Collective Blessing , so the rakdos couldn't block any of my guys. It was pure synergy when I swung for 35 unblockable damage. =)

Anyways, card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is by far one of the most influential cards in the deck. 10 life when playing Armada Wurm , or 8 life when playing a Thragtusk is definitely a life-saver. I understand about the mana complications, but I think it's very doable. I'd like to point out that for turns 1-3 I had no white, but I was able to tutor with Garrruk to make a comeback and win with my multicolors. =D

if you are having the mana problems i would suggest dropping 1 Armada Wurm for a card:Avacyn's Pilgrim

Hmmm, not exactly seeing how you win. If someone takes care of your creatures you are in no position to do anything. Lifegain in standard should be used as a roadblock to get to the big fatty that ends the game. Armada Wurm isn't going to be as good as you think it is when you play against the mirror. Wolfir Silverheart is in my sideboard for this particular style of deck. He owns Armada Wurm so hard. Trample doesn't mean anything if the opponent has bigger creatures than you do. G/W has two of the best finishers in standard right now with Angel of Serenity and Entreat the Angels . You have one copy of each. Also I feel like playing three Thragtusk s is just not right. He is possibly the best creature in standard now and you should have four if you're playing green. This list just feels like you really went nuts on life gain and tried to mash all the cards you possibly could into the deck. It needs testing and to be smoothed out. I know it's hard when you have so many cards you want to put into a deck but not enough space. That's where advanced deck building comes into play. You need to be as efficient as possible with your card selection to maximize the consistency and flow/curve of your deck. This list has potential to be a deck for sure, you just need to trim the fat and smooth out the rough edges. My G/W standard deck isn't really this style, but maybe looking at it you can see how I maximized the potential of every card in the deck, from the mainboard to the sideboard. Serenity now... - Maybe looking at this will help explain what I'm trying to say. Right now we all know that Zombie variants are going to be all over the place with this rotation, your deck dies to Zombies pretty hard. With all the 1, 2, and 3 ofs in this deck you're going to struggle to hit that crucial card at that crucial time. I wanna see the G/W decks come out swinging and I think you could do a better job of putting this together. This is just all constructive criticism and just my opinion... Take my suggestions the way you want to take them. If you want my help maybe looking at the list and fine tunning it, I would be happy to be of service. If not, good luck in standard and let me know how this list works for you!

Yes. I believe that is green's biggest weakness. Whatever the case, a green deck relies on creatures. A white deck also relies on creatures. Take out the creatures in either deck and you will be hurting. If you look at my sideboard then you will see that there are 3x card:Faith's Reward. Seeing as my deck relies on mostly creatures that produce tokens or gains life, this is the card to use for that situation because multiple effects will occur when they all come back.

I felt really accomplished with this deck. I trimmed down and selected things to help out the best in every situation. If you feel it needs work then please give me your suggestions. I'm curious on how this could be improved. Also, do you have any examples of the zombie decks that might be in stanndard? I haven not seen any thus far and would like to test them out with this. Don't hesitate to give me the best one you know of. ;D

Also, I'm not sure about having 4x Thragtusk . It's a great card, but I really do like Armada Wurm . I know it's not "the new" Primeval Titan , but it does wonders for 6 mana. I'm thinking of replacing Arbor Elf for Scorned Villager  Flip . The 2/2 vig for 2 that can then tap for 2 G is really good. Even the original side can tap for 1, so it's not as if it's a bad card.

Well do you have a membership at StarCity games? They have been playing with some of the new Zombie decks for weeks now. There are tons of examples of these decks on this site too. Just go to the main page and check the hubs for the Zombie listings. They are making a lot of G/B decks, R/B Decks, and Jund Decks(R/G/B). I wasn't trying to rain on your parade, I'm just trying to help the community. When I have time to put together a list in the style you're trying to achieve I'll share it with you. I hope you got a chance to check out the deck I listed for you. I'll be in touch, don't get discouraged, I could be totally wrong. Let me know how this list does for you next Friday. Keep up the brewing!

I did find some. For the most part it was an even match. Rakdos seems to be the toughest because of how fast their decks run. I examined the deck again and realized that my main focus is flicker. I do this to get tokens, to gain life, and to get blockers. (If a creature is tapped, I can exile it and have it return untapped. I think that is how it works.) Thus I put more emphasis on that. I'm really trying to build a selesnya build. When I realized that, I thought about adding more creatures and making it more creature based. This really goes into the flickering idea as well.

No worries. I'm glad to receive any help you can offer. I really want Selesnya to come out on top. I think it will just take a little more work than the other guilds will to make an effecient deck. I did look at your deck. I could tell it was a different route than my own, but it was very effecient. Angel of Serenity is definitely a nice card.

I went ahead and copied this deck and modified it to see how it turned out. The name is: deck:ahw-build-1. I'm thinking I could make different builds as we go along and progress etc. We could use this current page "deck:angel-humans-wurms-oh-my"as a base. lol If you don't want to then that's alright. Thanks for the help so far.

I most certainly will, any opinion or suggestion on this deck construct? Don't really know if it's viably a game winner but I would like it to be competitively ready.

Great deck, I'd be a bit worried about fast aggro decks though. Your not going to want to defend using your mana ramp so perhaps Doomed Traveler is needed.

Just a bit of math here, you have not 30% to draw one your Cloudshift /Restoration Angel /card:Conjurer's Closet in your opening hand, but more like 70%.

Also, I really like your deck but I think you have maybe just a little bit too much of turn 5. I think you should get rid of one Geist-Honored Monk or maybe one of your card:Conjurer's Closet.

I really like the deck and I hope you will do well with it, +1.

Thanks for the suggestions. Decks like Rakdos will definitely be the hardest decks for this to beat. I have a sideboard of Rancor , card:Faith's Reward, Acidic Slime , and Nevermore . I'm thinking that these will be enough to overcome that. I can prevent their big creatures from coming out, destroy their lands, and get back creatures that I choose to block with. Rancor is SB to switch to more agro- intensive.

I do like the idea of running Doomed Traveler . Right now I have 18 cards for Cmc of 1 - 3. CMC 4 - 7 is 20. This is 2 card difference. I believe that with the mana ramp, this isn't too concerning.

Any suggestions on what I would take out if I went with Doomed Traveler ?

October 7, 2012 1:29 p.m.

Just so you're aware, Geist-Honored Monk does not have flying...only the tokens it makes does.

@ Bigburlybillin terms of rakdos decks just side in Common Bond and you give your self two creatures you don't have to worry about when attacking. Cause with the mechanic unleash if they choose to come in it adds the +1/+1 at the drawback of they can't block, in that case you take out two possible blockers of theirs

Looks better than before. I just tested it against Sigarda's army 2.0 you lost the best of 3.

Game 1: strangleroot+Rancor s took over too fast

Game 2: you had 3 Armada Wurm and 2 resto angel

Game 3: t3 sigarda t4 silverheart and rancor beat you down

The deck works better than before but has trouble against quick decks if they get fast hands

I've made some changes. I didn't notice that Geist-Honored Monk had vigilance. I really thought it was flying. To make it more effecient and able to stand up to fast decks, I've done the following:Reductions1. -1x card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice2. -2x Geist-Honored Monk 3. -1x card:Avacyn's Pilgrim4. -1x Restoration Angel

Additions1. +1x Farseek 2. +3x Strangleroot Geist

Upon playtesting, it seems better, but I'm still not sure if it's reached perfection yet. What do you think it needs? Doomed Traveler was not good enough to run in the deck. Suggestions are always welcome. I'm curious though. Do any of you think that Mana Bloom could be viable for mana ramp? It gives me any color mana, and is def good for whenever I need it.

Azure124 says... #23

Mana Bloom is good its reusable ramp/mana fix it is basically a mana dork that is hard to remove

Bigburlybill says... #24

Please tell me what you all think of the update. Also, I'm torn between using

3x card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and 1x Angel of Serenity

or

2x card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and 2x Angel of Serenity

October 13, 2012 1:06 a.m.

The Doctor says... #25

Two card:Trostani, Selesnya's Voice max. It's a bit dangerous to go over two. I used to run three in my deck Don't Blink. Blink, and you're dead. and I would always pull her at the wrong times.

Given that Angel of Serenity is a super-buffed Fiend Hunter and ISN'T legendary, I would say it's better to run her.
