I agree. I thought about it, and I'm going to run Primordial Hydra instead of the Centaurs. The reason is that I can cast the Hydra by turn 2-3, the same as the centaur. However, he'll double in attack each turn. This means that he's going to draw hate onto him, while the big stuff looms in the distance. If he's not dealt with, then by turn 5 then he can be an 8/8. By turn 6, it's a 16/16 with trample. I think that it also fits in with the ramping style of the deck because I can cast him late game for mana. I was feeling that with so much mana, it needed an X cost card besides Entreat the Angels . What are your thoughts on this?

I'm adamant about not using Primordial Hydra , but your logic does make sense. I'd say try it out and get back to me. lol

Will do. I'm curious though. Why do you not want to use him? I've noticed that a lot of green players choose not to, even though he is relatively cheap for a green beatstick. I'll try it out though and let you know how it goes. lol

Because he generates more hate than just about any other creature in Standard.
But if you use him on turn-3 or 4, your opponent can just nuke him and not one of your bigger bombs.
I makes sense on paper, at least.

I feel that, much like Avacyn, Angel of Hope , the Primordial Hydra is good as a singleton in a ramp deck. That way you are never counting on it in your strategy and you are more likely to pull it mid-to-late game where it can put pressure on an opponent while their removal resources are (hopefully) more limited. Hopefully they spend all the Murder's and Morbid Slips and O-rings on creatures that net them less value in the exchange, such as Thragtusks and Serenity Angels and Armada Wurms, so that when the hydra pops up it will have a greater chance to spend those few turns on the field to turn into a steam-rolling fun-engine.

Sigarda's a beast. I'd use 3 main-board if I had a third one.
