After looking at the recent Top 8's one might as well run a full set of Hallowed Moonlight mb. Not really but you know what I mean. o.O

I know, it's CoCo/tokens all the way. I'm considering switching back to a deck i made a while ago to specifically fight CoCo/tokens and just update it with some of the escalate cards

I have successfully played Hallowed Moonlight mainboard before, at the very least it cycles, so it's actually an option. It becomes better the more reactive you are and the more instants you play, so this deck might not be interested, but mainboard Moonlight is a consideration.

I've played it myself as well in a b/w control list. I think running it mainboard in this deck is going to be a meta call. If your meta has lots of bant coco and other decks where it is effective then running it main is a solid plan. My meta is super competitive with mostly tier 1-2 decks and not many home brews and 0 kitchen table decks. Sometimes you get kids who come to play but they might as well be shark bait in that environment...

I'm not going to mainboard it purely for the fact that it will be a dead card in so many match ups.
August 3, 2016 4:31 p.m.
The thing is: It's never truly "dead", it always replaces itself for 2 mana. If the metagame requires it, mainboarding it is a solid plan, but right now that seems premature.

Thalia, Heretic Cathar is banned in standard now :(.
Really good deck though, as always.

I think that's a mistake on TO, it's shown up as an illegal card since I've added it.
August 7, 2016 10:21 a.m.
Yeah Rassar, no card in the current standard has been banned. Even when Dig Through Time was banned in modern, it wasn't banned in standard. Thalia is still legal.

It will take a lot to ban something in Standard. Even an insane card can't be abused like Modern or Legacy. The meta has no staples or speed to abuse it.
August 7, 2016 1:37 p.m.
Oh ok. I don't play a lot of standard, so I didn't know.
It is true that there are no standard staples because the format changes so much.

I think Nissa was a really good call. Wasn't sure if you wanted to veer from angels/humans but Thalia legend snatcher is excellent with Nissa.

She works great in grindier matchups as another source of card advantage and as a chump blocker with upside for faster matches.
I think i've settled into playing with the deck fully now. With the 2 seasons past in the deck i can make riskier plays as i have the chance to get back any cards i lose due to the play.
It's pretty impressive how fast i can dig through my deck via Oath of Nissa Duskwatch Recruiter Flip and Tireless Tracker.

There was a day where this type draw power with green was privileged to . How things have flipped.
I studied your current list and I'll second Declaration in Stone MB with 2x Seasons Past. At first release I saw Stone as really really good. Then I thought maybe not so hot after all. Now it's just a great solid removal. I can't say these builds would thrive if not for that one card as a go to.
I do run a similar Legend build. Splashed blue for Taimoyo, which is pretty cool. Also run Knight of the White Orchid. All these powerful legends are great. But the Knight has shown to be a huge key figure in the build. Perhaps a consideration on your part. :)

You said in emn game day raport, that wanderer countered your avacyn. You were sleeping there, since wanderer only counters very spesific things.

Indeed i was, got a fast one pulled on me there. That's what happens when i don't read a card i don't play myself. I'm glad i won the match now, i would have been very disappointed if i lost because of that. I'll keep an eye out for that from now on. Thanks for that, i wouldn't have realised at all.

HairyManBack I traded for a Tamiyo today so i could try a legendary bant build.
I'm personally not a fan of knight in anything other than a mono white deck, just my own preference and i think recruiter and selfless spirit have more upside as 2 drops on both the play and the draw.
August 13, 2016 4:44 p.m.
Besides not being a human any reason to not use sylvan advocate instead of the recruiter.
Thanks for the decklist btw started magic again after a 7 year break and used your deck as a guide to place 2nd at games day.

Duskwatch Recruiter Flip lets me search the top 3 of my library to find a creature, it's a good mana sink for late in the game and can reload your hand with creatures. If it's fiipped it makes everything else cheaper to cast so it punishes opponents who don't play in their own turn and accelerates my own curve.

Loving Grapple here man! I've been whipping up some Bruna brews and Grapple was not on the top of my list. Glad you came to the conclusion of Always Watching . It's an awesome card but doesn't seem to fit the bill in bigger haymaker-type builds.
Hey, plus your just about rotation ready! ;)

Authority of the Consuls seems extremely low impact. I don't think that card is anywhere close to being playable in Standard. Sorry if that sounds like pretty harsh criticism, but i simply have seen people play those "trap" cards too many times.

Emzed Doesn't sound harsh at all, i'm looking at this deck at the moment and thinking i can make a far better abzan planeswalker deck that will perform much better, utilizing Sylvan Advocate to pump the Nissa land to a 7/7 as well as being able to add in some man lands for extra boosts, i'm just in the midst of sorting out a mana base for that so i can consistently cast spells.
September 22, 2016 8:55 a.m.
I think for Abzan colors, Concealed Courtyard and Blooming Marsh as well as the creature lands Shambling Vent and Hissing Quagmire are the best lands available. Both Canopy Vista and Fortified Village require a bunch of basic lands and don't help you with black mana, so they might not be optimal for an Abzan deck. A couple of Canopy Vista are probably fine though. How about:
3 Concealed Courtyard
4 Blooming Marsh
4 Shambling Vent
2 Hissing Quagmire
2 Canopy Vista
4 Evolving Wilds (only play the full 4 because of Tireless Tracker)
6-8 basics, chosen with respect to your color requirements

Looks great. Have you considered Natural State over Fragmentize? It hits Smuggler's Copter, which seems most relevant, as well as Authority of the Consuls, Stasis Snare, Always Watching , and a few other common targets. All that at instant speed has seemed stronger than Fragmentize which only expands the list of relevant targets slightly in my experience unless your meta has a lot of Aetherflux Reservoir or Panharmonicon shenanigans.I have a Naya walkers and angels build I am working on and would love any feedback you may have.

I've updated the sideboard with Hallowed Moonlight, thanks very much for the suggestion. As well as the decks you mentioned it being good against it also nullifies Eldritch Evolution
