Izzet is my favorite guild/color combo in Magic and I decided it was now or never that It needed to make a comeback and control the other decks trying to flood the meta. I'm constantly working to improve the deck as much as I possibly can and now I feel like I've reached a very nice balance point where it just feels right.

Originally I was following the build of Izzet control by TheAshenKnight but now I feel like I've managed to turn it into something completely my own. I know how successful and amazing Esper and UW control decks are and tried to use those as a formula for some of my decisions along with suggestions I've received such as adding more card advantage or how much I should rely on multiple win conditions or just limit it to about 2-3 and focus on the consistency of the deck.

The only thing I feel that is missing is of course Jace, Architect of Thought. But can't worry about that till he drops to my budget level or the new duel deck comes out and makes him more affordable.

Stormbreath Dragon, another all star player in this arena is another card that would be nice to have more of but I'm lucky to have the one I own now.

Beyond those two cards I'm not sure what else I would consider adding except new stuff from Born of the Gods when more of it is spoiled in the next few days.

Decided to take out Spellheart Chimera and Shock in favor of more card advantage and lifegain/spell recycling through Opportunity and Elixir of Immortality. Elixir would be horrible with chimera and while I like chimera I feel there are better decks for it. The deck doesn't need multitudes of win conditions but rather ways to be more consistent with the ones it has. Elixir is great for either just simple life gain or recycling said win cons if they get killed in some way so I can try to draw into them with the deck's scry and card advantage. Thinking about main boarding Jace, Memory Adept.
