A recent SCG Invitation saw this deck run.

Having played a variant of Crouching Magus, Hidden Strings I enjoyed the central combo so much that I didn't want to see it go with the Standard Rotation. Hence building this deck.

I hope it brings me as much fun as my Standard deck did.

The Pro Tour Infect Deck has much food for thought for me with this list. The cards that I'm currently considering are the following:

Pumps: Wild Defiance, Become Immense & Noble Hierarch

Protection: Apostle's Blessing, Spellskite & Vines of Vastwood

Utility: Destructive Revelry & Choke

The Infect pump choices reflect a tradeoff of explosiveness for consistency. I don't think I could justify running Wild Defiance without also including Noble Hierarch. As it currently stands I'm running 2 more creatures than Infect although I don't have the benefit of Inkmoth Nexus providing a man-land. Perhaps I can afford to lose the Grim Lavamancer although I'm concerned of losing my reach.

As a further note, if I do start to run Noble Hierarch then Temur Battle Rage becomes a much more attractive alternative to Assault Strobe.

Become Immense is an auto-include in this list. The question is how many copies can I justify running. Ross' Infect runs 4 but he also uses 3 more Fetchlands as opposed to my current mana base of Quicklands. I'm trying to keep an eye out for how many cards I have in the graveyard when I want to pop this. I think that Brute Force should make way for this over Titan's Strength, the scry should be better than the +2 on defence. But I'm not certain.

Protection-wise, I'm very keen to find an opportunity to trial Vines of Vastwood as it offers pump, protection and disruption against Spinter Twin. The double green requirement could be troublesome though.

Change-wise, having considered all this:

-1 Brute Force for +1 Become Immense

-2 Tin Street Hooligan for +2 Destructive Revelry

I think the end goal might be a 2/2 split between Become Immense and Vines of Vastwood over the spots Brute Force currently holds in this list. Perhaps a 3/2 split of Noble Hierarch and Nivmagus Elemental at the expense of Grim Lavamancer.
