Angus' Pillowfort

Commander / EDH*

MC HAMMER WOULD APPROVE

Welcome to Angus' Pillowfort, where we give out complimentary bubble wrap and mouth guards at the door. Let me give you the run down of what goes on around here:

First thing first, let me introduce you to our head honcho Angus Mackenzie. It's important that you realize how much he does around here, along with his right-hand-spirit Seedborn Muse. Angus makes sure you enjoy your stay, and when you talk to him, make sure you address him with a Scottish accent. Makes the immersion a little better.

Here at Angus' Pillowfort, we strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible while providing all the amenities that a $1,200+ purchase has to offer. You'll meet many famous folks here and learn about what they have to offer you, indulge in the structured chaos that ensues around you, and make some friends (or some enemies) all while being protected by everyone here at Angus' Pillowfort! Enjoy your stay! (Note: will be making a more expensive version of this deck later, but for now here's a more "budget friendly' build.)

First thing first, you need to build your shell up. Play your enchantments early and often to get the full use out of cards like Sphere of Safety and Verduran Enchantress.

Ghostly Prison can make sure that your opponents are taxed to even try and swing at you. For most, this deters quite a few players from attacking early on, saving their mana for upcoming spells. Propaganda does the same thing, only in blue.

Collective Restraint is a pseudo Ghostly Prison/Propaganda, only it's reliant on your basic land types. This card makes it to where using your fetches to find just a good old Island isn't so bad.

Maze of Ith can come in clutch in the early game as well.

Windborn Muse is a nice addition to the fort.

Greater Auramancy ties your fort together with style, making it to where your opponents will have to deal with it first before anyone can even think about knocking on your door or stepping on your lawn.

Fog: Really great 1-drop in green here.

Constant Mists: A two drop Fog with Buyback? Not too shabby.

Selfless Squire: Not as cheap as other fog spells, but has the potential to be a huge threat to whoever just decided to go for you.

Tangle: Just like Recurring Mists, only creatures can't untap for a turn. Not too shabby and makes a good combo that I'll describe later.

Moment's Peace: Buys you two turns of no Combat Damage. Dank.

Dawn Charm: A fog with other uses. A Swiss-Army Fog, if you will.

Holy Day: A white Fog.

Respite: Fog effect with lifegain? Yes please!

Comeuppance: ALL damage can be prevented and thrown back at your opponent or his creature. That'll teach him!

And, of course, we have Angus Mackenzie's ability to fog whenever we can tap him and pay. A recurring fog is always nice to have!

Isochron Scepter + any of your 2 CMC or less fogs means you can fog indefinitely. No one will see it coming until it's too late and they can't attack you.

Sun Titan attacking can get you back a lot of your Fogs over time, and is a valuable asset when it comes to making sure you stay alive long enough to put the lockdown on your opponent.

Enchanted Evening + Starfield of Nyx lets all the dogs out.

Dueling Grounds + Maze of Ith is a nasty synergy that doesn't even rely on anything else to make sure you negate all damage from creatures.

Angus Mackenzie + Seedborn Muse = a Fog on every turn if needed. Good opportunities for you to make some friends, and nobody wants to die, so people would be smarter to keep you and your stuff alive rather than attack you or kill your creatures. I mean, you don't have to help anyone out, but that's not my pig, and not my farm.

Alright, here's where we put the hurt down onto people. We've got our pillowfort up and running at optimal efficiency, and now we decide, "alright, this game has gone on for long enough." Here's a list of the massive bombs you can drop and practically get ready to shake hands.

Narset Transcendent's ult. Goodbye noncreature spells, and hello practical shroud on everything. ETB effects still take place, but not if they can hit the ground at all...

Enter Jace, Unraveler of Secrets' ult. Counter's the first spell of every opponent's turn? Have fun dealing with that.

Having problems playing more than a couple spells a turn? Don't worry, because my girl Tamiyo, Field Researcher has your back. Card draw and freeze effects all in one? Sweet. PLAYING NONLAND CARDS WITHOUT PAYING ANY MANA? Hoo-wee, Rick.

(Basically, I can list all of the planeswalker's ultimate abilities here, but I'll let you look for yourself.)

Azor's Elocutors can win the game pretty easily if left unattended, or, you know, if no one can deal damage to you anyway.

Starfield of Nyx gets pretty darn crazy.

Luminarch Ascension can get you plenty of angel to beat face with since your opponents won't hit you anyway. Have fun with that, kiddo.

If you enjoy sitting back and watching chaos ensue, then you're going to enjoy this list. Let your friends go ahead and play their big creatures. Let someone try and knock on your door. Make some friends. Lose some friends. Make it a 4 hour game. Make it last as long as someone cat kill your wincon. It's all up top you.

I sincerely hope you've enjoyed your stay at Angus' Pillowfort, and remember...

"You can't die if they can't hit you," - Angus Mackenzie, probably.
