Someone better call PETA, 'cuz all the animals are getting beaten here.

Story Time!!!

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind loves to abuse birds. He breathes his crazy card-drawing flames on all kinds of exotic birds, such as Birds of Paradise, Bronzebeak Moa s, and even the dreaded Storm Crow . But by far, his favorite birds to abuse are the Swans of Bryn Argoll.

Since he's a scientist, he makes sure to keep his brain-in-a-jar nearby (Psychosis Crawler), and shares his research with the folks in the Reliquary Tower, run by the famous Enclave Cryptologist.

But abusing swans isn't all fun and games. Niv-Mizzet must be ever-wary of anyone looking to thwart his plans. If his swans ever go out of control, it is only a matter of time until his Izzet mages get them back in their cages with their Lightning Bolts and Izzet Charms. He is ever prepared to escape into the Explosive Vegetation of the jungle, where he can rely on his Firespout s to cover his tracks or the Halimar Depths where he can look into the future to see if it's safe to return to his great work.

Deck Breakdown

This is a semi-budget casual combo deck using Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Swans of Bryn Argoll to draw infinite cards. Psychosis Crawler can end the game after becoming big and scary, as well as it's ability to deal damage on draws. Venser's Journal and Reliquary Tower are also included to keep cards in hand if you can't combo off for some reason. Because the combo is fairly slow, there is a full suite of ramp spells to keep your mana on track while thinning your deck. Finally, Halimar Depths, Enclave Cryptologists, and Izzet Charm can quicken the combo.

This deck is a mostly budget deck (would like to keep expenses under 100 USD if possible) except for the cards that I already own. This is one of the decks I want to build as a persistent deck, so I really want it to match my play style of having a combo backed up by a strong card advantage engine, but just enough interaction to deal with your opponent's threats while you build your combo.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the TO community has to contribute to this take on the Swans combo deck, and don't forget to +1 if you like the deck!
