This deck is a lot of fun to play. There are several win conditions, none of which require recursion, but all of them able to incorporate it.

The only form of infinite recursion is through Animar, Soul of Elements and Ancestral Statue . Luckily, it's a simple combo and very easy to achieve.

The deck is built around a.) getting a win condition set up, b.) tutoring Ancestral Statue into your hand, and c.) having fun getting there, while d.) providing all sorts fo alternate ways to disrupt your opponent(s).

Win Conditions

card:Simic Ascendency

• Animar, Soul of Elements generates a counter each time a creature spell is cast.
• Hardened Scales adds one extra on top of any other effect
• Doubling Season doubles everything up - including those added by Hardened Scales!
• Inexorable Tide generates an additional counter per permanent with a counter per spell cast
• Forgotten Ancient adds a counter whenever anyone casts a spell, and triggers Simic Ascendency once more every upkeep, if you move counters.
• Deepglow Skate doubles counters on any permanent when entering the battlefield
• Kalonian Hydra comes into play with 4 counters, and doubles all creature counters when it attacks
• Fathom Mage has Evolve and enters the battlefield as a 1/1
• Path of Discovery adds up to a counter per creature entering the battlefield
• Rhythm of the Wild adds up to a counter per creature entering the battlefield
• Primeval Bounty adds three per non-creature spell (among other awesome effects)
• Master Biomancer adds X to every creature entering the battlefield

Combine two or three of these cards, and you're looking at some very fast scaling. Not to mention the pump you're giving your creatures.
