Creature (1)

Well tuned and highly optimized Animar, Soul of Elements Deck. Some minor changes can be made to this build to make a more competitive version. The idea of this deck is to reduce the cost of high power cards, (like the Eldrazi Titans) and to create strong creature based synergies. I am currently working on a writing up all of my deck choices and why. Please click on one of the sections below to get an idea of why I made the choices I made for deckbuilding. Comments and criticism are highly appreciated!

The current Ramp package of this deck is Cultivate, Farseek, Kodama's Reach, Rampant Growth, and Crop Rotation. All of these are fairly standard cards seen in green commander decks, I opted to not include Sylvan Scrying in favor of Crop Rotation for its instant speed activation, lower mana cost, and making the land searched immediately available.

The Mana Rocks currently in the deck are Arcane Signet, Chromatic Lantern, Fellwar Stone, Sol Ring, and the Signets. These are standard fixing in most 3 color Commander Decks and are comprised of rocks that are 2 mana or less to give access to fast early game mana. Chromatic Lantern is the only 3 mana rock we run because it immediately fixes all of our mana while being a mana rock on its own, it can easily be swapped out of the deck to free a slot for something else but I personally prefer the no mess fixing it offers. Outside of Sol Ring the rock you want to see the most is Arcane Signet, because it is just another copy of Command Tower after being cast.

Finally the Mana Dorks I decided to run are Arbor Elf, Beastcaller Savant, Birds of Paradise, Rattleclaw Mystic, Sakura-Tribe Elder, and Solemn Simulacrum. the inclusion of Arbor Elf over a card like Llanowar Elves or Elvish Mystic is because it ramps in an unconventional way and when targeting lands like Breeding Poolfoil, Ketria Triome or Stomping Groundfoil gives us access to a bunch of our colors instead of just one. Beastcaller Savant is in the deck because the main gameplan of any Animar deck is casting a ton of creatures and if we can have his cost reduced by Animar we gain immediate access to all of our colors! Birds of Paradise is included because it gives us access to all of our colors and is can potentially be pumped by Forgotten Ancient to create a flying threat if Animar is offline. Rattleclaw Mystic is an auto include in Animar decks because it is again in all of your colors but more importantly if Animar is online and has 3 or more +1/+1 counters the morph cost is free giving us a free counter on Animar and flipping it gives us 3 free mana which when paired with Temur Sabertooth you can gain +1/+1 counters at a rate of 1 generic mana per counter. Sakura-Tribe Elder is just good generic fixing and is essentially a second copy of Rampant Growth on a creature body. Solemn Simulacrum is awesome in this deck because as soon as Animar gets 4 counters its free ramp and once you get a sacrafice outlet like Greater Good out its a free draw.
