What are your thoughts on Dockside Extortionist ?

Dockside Extortionist is probably a little slow for this deck. It's mostly useful in the late game when there's a ton of artifacts and enchantments on the field. I feel that by the time it would be useful there would be other cards you would want to cast. Saying that, I do run it in my very budget version of the deck since my playgroup is a little less competitive Last_Laugh

You could run Salvager of Ruin as a redundancy and cheaper Ancestral Statue. Not quite the same, but you sacrifice it to recur itself and cast again and make a very big Animar.

Unfortunately, Salvager of Ruin can't target itself

edit tried to stand up for salvager at least being able to ensure Ballista/Statue get through if answered but it only works for removal, not counterspells. Missed that 'from the battlefield' clause... God that thing requires a lot of jumping through hoops.

How come? the cost is paid: the ability on the stack, and it has been put into the graveyard from the battlefield. Shouldn’t it be able to return itself?

Targets have to be chosen before it actually hits your graveyard so it's not a valid target.

A few updates over the last couple weeks. Deck has been tuned for the most recent card releases.

what did you take out for thassa oracle?

XxXParzivalXxX Dropped Aluren, Aluren was always Win more, just never had something more valuable to swap it until Thassa.

Nice build, found your list looking around at temur decks to develop a list I want to run with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Godo, Bandit Warlord lines, with bouncing a creature into Thassa's Oracle or Altar of the Brood as alt wincons. I planned to include Food Chain Eternal Scourge Cloudstone Curio but it feels generically simic with only a splash of red for Kiki-Jiki and Godo, I think this list will help me to include some new tricks instead of the ones I am admittedly bored with. +1

Im curious, what are your thoughts on Nettle Drone as a piece of redundancy for the statue and purphoros combo?
