Toolbox version of my animar decks. My favorite one

Commander

Animar, Soul of Elements

It gain a +1/+1 counter for each time the controler cast a creature spell.

For each counter +1/+1, the creature spells cost less

It would be better to play it on a deck with many creature spell to cast, Animar getting stronger and reducing the cost for casting creature spell, allowing even to cast some creature for sometime (uncolored card mostly) but in general, it will alow to play expensive creature way faster than most other deck if left uncheked.

Weaknesses

The commander is not targatable by & spell and abilities but will still to the mercy of the other spell.

While the & can't be underestimated, can be the most problematic for the entire duration of the game as no matter the Animar ability to wistand wound, any single blink on it will reset the counter number and will need to be restocked again, an antispell will force an expensive recast, wich may cost the most competitive games, and may even be taken away, thing that should not let be done unanswered (imagine yourself working hard to build something good and all the work is stole by that one **** in this case I recommand the total destruction of the player who did such an inhuman act, you have to make him/her lose no matter the cost ).

Under most cases, the Animar must stay on our board to powering up the deck and stay on the race against the other opponents.

Even hexproof or being indestructible might not be enought, some counter spell must be added to protect it from trouble in order to let the deck grow.

Deck goals & focus

The deck built around the Animar, Soul of Elements try to focus on a growth theme (typicaly simic deck by playing with many +1/+1 counter) and attacking the ennemy in end with an overwhelming power while disrupting their rank via counterspell, bounce & fire.

To do so, many combo are on the deck to provide wonderful effects:

Combo: 2 of them can either make us win or something close.

RampMana: Allow to cast more thing

Draw / CardAdvantage: Allow to cast more stuff

Tutor: Fetching piece of combo or protection according to opponent and our ability to cast the whole combo at once.

Protection: Here to protect the ability to play combo, but some combo transform our combo into combo abuser, like counter spell without spending cards (be careful at the number of card in the stack)

Recu: Allow to re use thing of our graveyard, combo abuser [infinite mana+bounce/blink] let us just cast everything we want, when we want. If only one card allows us to draw a card, It's a victory.

-Infinite Cast/ Giving Animar infinite counter:

-- Ancestral Statue --- When Animar reach 4 counter +1/+1, the Ancestral Statue cost 0 and the effect of this card is to bouncing 1 of our permanent, allowing to send back the statue in our hand and recast it, as many time as we want.

-Infinite Mana:

Blink Infinite Mana Show

Cast Infinite Mana Show

Infinite Damage: Ancestral Statue + Purphoros, God of the Forge

Destroy every targeted permanent --Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre+ Cloudstone Curio + animar overloaded

High synergy: Deadeye Navigator+ any card with entering on the battlefield triggered ability.

-1 Thragtusk Life gain is just for survival purpose, draw card is always welcome +1 Tidal Barracuda Give Flash (to everyone) and prevent opponent to play spell during our turn

-1 Pollenbright Druid +1 The Ozolith More resillient to setbacl, if the artifact is not destroyed before animar come back, Animar will get back "his" counters

-1 Sylvok Replica +1 Caustic Caterpillar Less mana to spend in case of emrgency and animar not charged
