This is a creature based Animar, Soul of Elements, having both fatties and protections.Ok, first I'd like to apologize for my bad english, now let's move on.

I'll split this deck into sections and will try to explain why I picked every card.This is not a final version yet, I've played some 1x1 and multiplayer rounds with it and I was pretty impressed with it. Suggestions are welcome.

Some cards will appear in more than one list, tough my explanation will only cover why they are in that list.

Why Animar, Soul of Elements?

He has a great protection and let me "ramp" with his ability while being able to get huge.

Fatties:

Apocalypse Hydra - X can get pretty high if the commander has a lot of counters.

Primordial Hydra - Same as her Grull sister.

Kalonian Hydra - Gets bigger with every attack and duplicate the number of counters on other Hydras and on Animar, Soul of Elements.

Artisan of Kozilek - Nice body and Annihilator 2.

Kozilek, Butcher of Truth - Heavy body and Annihilator 4.

Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre - Indestructible, Annihilator 4.

Balefire Dragon - Heavy Flyer.

Darksteel Colossus - Indestructible, Trample.

Blightsteel Colossus - Indestructible, Trample, Infect.

Garruk's Horde - Heavy Trampler.

Maelstrom Wanderer - Haste for everybody and invites two friends to the battlefield.

Nylea, God of the Hunt - Indestructible, Trample for everyone.

Soul of the Harvest - Nice Trampler.

Sun Quan, Lord of Wu - Everyone "Unblockable"!

Vigor - Let's buff everyone!

Wurmcoil Engine - Deathtouch, Lifelink that splits when killed.

Forgotten Ancient - He gets big fast, and hes even able to help Animar, Soul of Elements to get bigger.

Card Draw:

Consecrated Sphinx - Come on, drawing twice as many cards as all opponents together? And has a nice 4/6 Flying body.

Garruk's Horde - Even it's not a draw, playing direct from top is pretty nice.

Garruk's Packleader - Draw on almost any creature drop.

Mulldrifter - Draw 2 and even when using the evoke it put a counter on our commander.

Oracle of Mul Daya - Same as Garruk's Horde but it also let me drop a second land each turn.

Primordial Sage - Draw on any creature spell, we have plenty.

Solemn Simulacrum - On death, draw a card.

Soul of the Harvest - We have almost no token creation, so draw on every creature.

Kozilek, Butcher of Truth - Draw 4 on a heavy body.

Kavu Lair - A version of Garruk's Horde without body and that helps our enemies as well.

Rhystic Study - It annoys almost every opponent.

Garruk, Caller of Beasts - Not a draw, but still awesome.

Removal:

Acidic Slime - Destroy noncreature, nonplaneswalker, and has Deathtouch.

Brutalizer Exarch - Put that pesky noncreature that bothers you on the Bottom of it's owner library.

Duplicant - Exile a nontoken creature and absorbs its body.

Phyrexian Ingester - Pretty much a blue Duplicant.

Terastodon - Destroy three permanents, but gives their owners an elephant.

Beast Within - A smaller Terastodon

Trygon Predator - A winged Naturalize.

Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre - Destroy a single permanent, but has an incredible body.

Warstorm Surge - Deals damage everytime you play a creature.

Let's use our fallen brothers:

Artisan of Kozilek - Return a creature to the battlefield, it won't proc Animar, Soul of Elements, but who cares?

Deadwood Treefolk - Return a creature from graveyard to hand, when it comes and leaves the battlefield.

Eternal Witness - Grabs anything from your graveyard back to your hand.

Paleoloth - When you drop a fattie it brings a creature from the graveyard to your hand.

Wrath effects:

Balefire Dragon - Deals damage to all creatures the player it dealt damage control.

Nevinyrral's Disk - Reset button.

Tutors:

Brutalizer Exarch - Tutors any creature and puts on Top of library.

Fauna Shaman - Swap a creature from your hand with one in your library, too bad you have to discard the card in your hand...

Fierce Empath - Search for a fattie.

Survival of the Fittest - Same as Fauna Shaman, but doesn't need to tap.

Summoner's Pact - DO NOT USE IF YOU'LL HAVE LESS THAN 2GG MANA ON YOUR NEXT UPKEEP, that said you can use it to grab almost anything without using mana.

Worldly Tutor - Brings a card from inside of your library to the Top.
