It's only printing is P3K. Also, I'm not sure my playgroup is fine with the wish cards and thus they aren't going to be included.

Nah man I'm looking at it right now it was printed in the commander 2013 power hungry premade deck that came out before x-mas, you wanna trade for it?
February 18, 2014 11:31 p.m.
On the note of wish cards in EDH, they can only grab 10 singleton cards that constitute your sideboard, or in this case your wishboard. The cards in there cannot be duplicates of any in your deck either, so they aren't super overpowered. It's not like you are running 2 of any creature/land you want.

With the amount of mana you can generate in EDH, have you ever tried Rite of Replication ? It goes great with any of the five legendary dragons from Champs of Kawigama and is a wrecker with Kalonian if kicked. In two turns with the latter, each Hydra would be 16384/16384, with Trample. Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is great in a creature deck as it keeps control players second guessing

Thinking of Ruric Thar, it looks like a really nice idea but could force a board wipe if I'm not careful. RoR is also a good suggestion but I don't know where to fit it in.

It can multiply the beatsticks you are very fond of (i share your love of them) and can turn a love creature into an army instantly. (no pun intended) Ruric can sometimes provoke a boardwipe, so i understand your hesitation. A good card to counter that is Spearbreaker Behemoth as his ability can be activated at any time and can keep Animar or Ruric on the field, and is not expensive or terribly hard to find, as i believe he was in one of the pre made decks.
March 4, 2014 7:37 p.m.
Seeing as you are on a budget, i can understand your omission of the more expensive praetors, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger . Garruk, Primal Hunter is six, so i woud look into that.

Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur is too scary for me- I either win when I drop him or I become such a scary threat the table kills me in a turn. Vorinclex is too much of a dick move for me, I'd rather be doing something harmless then combo off.
March 4, 2014 7:53 p.m.
I can understand that. I use them because the guys i play with do worse to me. Winter Orb on turn one. then they use Darksteel Mutation on my Somberwald Sage

I have a Naya deck could you help me you seem to be experienced in commanderrith's creature feature

I think you definitely need a Primal Surge in any Animar Deck. Its an easy win even in multiplayer. I love the addition of Purphoros, God of the Forge though, with Primal Surge that is an insta-win right there. I think you may rely heavily on pumping x-cost creatures though, which means trying to find that infinite mana combo since the Animar cost reduction doesn't count in x-cost creatures. Just something to think about, but definitely an interesting take on an Animar Deck. +1
You can check out the one I am working on and let me know what you think. Animar, Ruiner of Lives
March 5, 2014 5:34 p.m.
Also, you may want to look into Vorel of the Hull Clade since you like your +1/+1 counters.

Primal Surge is a shaky win condition at best since even if I get everything on the field, there's no garuntee that something like Propaganda won't have me dying next turn. It would also be ineffective unless I went all permanents, and that makes me lose the two best forest ramp spells in EDH as well as Tooth and Nail .
Animar's cost reduction does extend to X hydras. They are effective even without infinite mana, and even if they aren't the best choice for a combo deck they work very well as beaters.
Vorel of the Hull Clade does nothing but double animar's counters, and there comes a point when it's more effective to go infinite or counters really no longer matter.
March 5, 2014 7:57 p.m.
Wow, did not know that he reduced X-cost. I guess you just declare what your X is before you pay for it. That's pretty neat. And Primal Surge may be shaky I agree, but with created that give haste and the ability to have infinite combat phases with Bear Umbra and Hellkite Charger it's not that bad.
And Vorel of the Hull Clade might work well with Master Biomancer in my deck at least since I don't run Hydras. But Hydras may be a neat way to go. I love my Kolonian's for sure.

If Animar is getting removed too much you might consider one of these : Whispersilk Cloak , Archetype of Endurance , Aspect of Mongoose , Nullstone Gargoyle or Kira, Great Glass-Spinner . (I know when I play Animar he gets killed a LOT)
The best things with a Master Biomancer
is a Quicksilver Gargantuan
, Progenitor Mimic
or any other clone effect. Forgotten Ancient
works also.
If Animar has 3+ counters any morph creature will also go infinite with a Cloudstone Curio
and some of them are pretty useful (I usually run Nantuko Vigilante
& Willbender
at least). That might give you another way to combo besides just waiting for Aluren
to show up.
I saw Domri Rade
in your Maybeboard. I have never been able to get him to Emblem level without playing Doubling Season
and Proliferate. I love him but he breaks easy.
I love Animar decks and this looks like a fun one.

In all honesty, animar never really gets killed by anything but boardwipes in all the playtesting I do. Shroud and hexproof enablers don't excite me too much because if animar is no longer a factor (I don't need him, or he's tucked) they're absolutely dead cards. I try to kill people before they wipe or just ignore them until I can combo off and one-shot everyone.
Master Biomancer was just a cool card I had on hand. It's a fun card, could run something better in it's place but it sure is fun beating face with a Solemn Simulacrum .
I've thought about morph and curio route in the past but I feel that 1) it's too susceptible to removal, a Krosan Grip says bye-bye combo and 2) morph creatures are confusing to play IRL as well as online. If you look at my description you'll see all the combos I can pull off- Aluren is just part of some. I frequently find Palinchron with tutors or ridiculously efficient draw engines and him with a draw engine out is game over.
Domri Rade seems like a fun choice to help me draw as well as a form of removal that RUG generally lacks. He does seem to be a bit underpowered in EDH but I can't say no until playtesting.
Thanks, this deck could be more cutthroat but some cutesie cards make it a blast to play :)

Ummm. Is there any card draw in here?
There's almost no hatred or 'destroy X' cards in here, so you can't react to opponents.

Soul of the Harvest and Primordial Sage function as draw right now. I know it's lacking in draw power right now, but I'm ordering Flamekin Harbinger and Slithermuse among other things on Monday and just haven't updated the decklist yet. Flamekin tutors for both Soul of the Harvest and Slithermuse , and Slithermuse is often Ancestral Recall . I can usually find a self-bouncer as well, the addition of Signal the Clans yesterday has helped me consistently find self-bouncers and with Fierce Empath , Flamekin Harbinger , and Worldly Tutor to help me find draw engines, I think I'm set on draw power. I usually start drawing by Soul of the Harvest and Primordial Sage , and with a self-bouncer out it's pretty much two turns max to combo off.
Yeah, I realize I'm pretty weak if I can't interact, but I'm looking to add more reactive cards as well as a possibility of counterspells. I've been testing lots of different versions for this deck on cockatrice, and so far the only real area I've been lacking in is if animar gets tucked, or if I can't find a draw engine quickly enough. Flamekin Harbinger , Signal the Clans and Worldly Tutor will all immensely help this.

Yeh but all of those cards are conditional. You only get to drawer IF somethign else happens like an opponent has more cards or if you play another creature. They're slow etc etc.
Rhystic Study , Mystic Remora , Sylvan Library are not conditional. You just get cards. All the time. All the cards.

I'm trying to save up for Sylvan Library right now.
Rhystic Study certainly is an option. Probably gonna throw it into my cart and playtest with it and see if I like it. As it stands there are so many weak options in this list, I'd probably cut Crocanura for it.
Mystic Remora is out of the question since I'm tapping out nearly every turn, even late game if everything goes right. I have all my mana devoted towards casting creatures so I won't be able to pay for cumulative upkeep more than twice.
March 29, 2014 5:05 p.m.
To be honest, you only keep mystic remora alive for a turn or two. In that time it's likely to net you around 6 cards. Then just let it die. It's not a long term thing.

List updated with Mystic Remora and Rhystic Study added. Going to go test them on cockatrice and see how I like them. Thanks, ChiefBell.
