BX223Hunter I've thought about Magus of the Future just like I've thought about Future Sight however, both have three blue mana, which is something I'm trying to avoid for the deck in general. They would both make the deck extremely strong though.
carpecanum I just heard about the Ancestral Statue today. It will definitely be looking for a slot, with it being easily comboable in the deck. Thanks for the suggestion.

When we cracked a box of the new set i put a copy of Ancestral Statue aside for Animar without really thinking about it. Once i really read the card i was amazed they finally put a creature in game with that ability but no color cost.
I notice you play a lot of "clone" creatures. Dack's Duplicate can be absolutely terrifying. The combination haste & dethrone means he often gets to attack before the creature he copied and gets tougher.

carpecanum I'm still missing some of my clone effects for the game. Dack's Duplicate looks like it would be an awesome addition to my game. Thank you for pointing that out! I'll have to get a hold of one soon.

wakawakawaka Primal Surge is actually on the list to be added to the deck. Good catch.

Some includes I would highly suggest for an Animar deck:
Myojin of Seeing Winds - This I stumbled across recently. I've found that with my Animar deck it is very easy to hit 7 counters so being able to cast an effective draw spell for three mana that draws somewhere often between 5-20 cards is just amazing. I rank it higher than Prime Speaker Zegana.
Sages of the Anima - Has a unique interaction with the deck. Because it is so creature heavy it almost turns this into getting an Ancestral Recall every time you draw a card. Be careful with this though since it will lock you out of land drops since you won't draw into them. Oracle of Mul Daya works around this though. Even still, if you play the Sages of the Anima later in when you mana is well established it is some really incredible card advantage. Also has an awesome interaction with Sylvan Library.
Knollspine Dragon - Another potent card draw. Since this type of deck will tend to vomit its hand out it will not have issues with the discard portion. So this is often just 2 mana for potentially an absurd number of cards.
Elgaud Shieldmate and Spellskite do very well for protecting the commander.
Bane of Progress - as a deck that runs very little in the way of artifacts and enchantments this creature makes for a nice global.
If you would like, you can compare with my Animar deck if you're looking for other ideas as well: Animarvelous

Thank you for a lot of suggestions, Charge. I'm slowly tweaking the deck. I've taken a look at your deck, along with a lot of other Animar decks. Definitely looking to make some improvements.
Fathom Mage, Elgaud Shieldmate, and Bane of Progress replaced Nylea, God of the Hunt, Inferno Titan, and Yavimaya Elder.
Nylea giving the global trample was nice, but I've got other options of giving trample in the deck, so it's redundant, and the 3G to give +2/+2 isn't that big of a deal.Yavimaya Elder is one of those fun mechanics, but I can get more value out of the Fathom Mage.Inferno Titan gave some nice spot removal, but seems a little limited compared to the rest of the deck. It may come back after some play testing but I think he's getting the cut now.
I'm still trying to get my hands on a Knollspine Dragon so it can go into the deck, but I need to figure out what to take out of the deck to make room for it, along with making room for Myojin of Seeing Winds.
The deck continues to evolve.

If you're looking for cuts here are my suggestions:
Cloud of Faeries - A single mana ramp I don't consider strong enough. I'd change this out for Man-o'-War or a similar creature. Great thing about Man-o'-War is that it can return itself. So you can use it to build up counters on Animar. You can then use it to bounce one of your other creatures with good comes into play effects to re-use it. You can also use it to bounce an enemy creature that you need to. On the overall, creatures like this that bounce when they come into play do well for Animar.
Edric, Spymaster of Trest - This is great draw for 1 vs 1. Although if you play in multiplayer it will give cards to another people at times. I'd transition this into Myojin of Seeing Winds.
Joiner Adept - This one doesn't actually do anything if your mana base is well put together. Generally you will have the mana that you need and anytime that you don't then your opponents will recognize that and just remove it.
Ornithopter - Just too low impact for Commander format. It's here just to be a single counter on Animar in most instances.
My general thought pattern when deciding what makes it into the deck is that it needs to be doing one of the following:
--> Drawing cards.
--> Ramping mana.
--> Interacting with my opponent.
--> Protecting my board - hexproof to stop removal of Animar and counterspells to stop board wipes since Animar decks are very susceptible to this.
If it doesn't do one of these then it needs to have a strong interaction with what the deck is trying to accomplish. My Animar deck is more focused on being a control deck though instead of running big creatures at my opponent so it all depends on your goals.
