This is my current build of a cedh build of Animar. It doesn't have any reserved list cards (besides Barrin), but it does have a few very pricy cards like Ragavan, Dockside, Consecrated, and some fetches. It used to be budget, but I've upgraded it enough over the past couple of years that it isn't really anymore. The only cards I don't have due to price are the OG duals and Gilded Drake.

The main goal of the deck is to get Animar into play, get infinite +1/+1 counters on him and use an outlet for those counters to win the game. The easiest combo is to cast Ancestral Statue infinitely using its bounce etb on itself with either a Reckless Fireweaver on the field or a Walking Ballista in hand. Another way to go infinite is Dockside Extortionist and Barrin.

P.S. My Onslaught fetches, Karplusan, Chrome Mox, and City of Brass are all gold bordered.
