Also, maybe you should sideboard Sunscorch Regent, it seems like it would just be terrible against non-spell based decks, 5 mana, 4/3, flyer... I +1 the deck because I definetly think blue/white control is viable in DTK standard, but I think this list needs a little revising. These are just my thoughts, I don't mean to be mean at all.

Lol sup phyrexia...Hey BTW sunscorch regent triggers with any spell - that means creatures, planeswalkers, instants, sorceries, etc. All spells trigger it - so even laying a bunch of creatures down would make it get big and gain you life. Im a fan actually although some people might not be.

Phyrexia, you apparently dont know what a spell is, and therefore should not be giving tips for a competetive format like standard

I playtested earlier today against a Jund whip deck and still got decent value out of Sunscorch Regent. I've found that the hardest thing for this deck to deal with is actually Temur and Abzan aggro. I haven't the slightest idea how to slow them down.

Surrak, the Hunt Caller, Goblin Rabblemaster (more creature based RDW), and weenies led by Anafenza, the Foremost were my hardest games. Any thoughts, guys?

You may want to check out Orator of Ojutai as a sideboard card for agro. I'm serious about Secure the Wastes. It helps a ton if you can drop it for 4 mana, then chump block 3 creatures, then tap the three warriors for Devouring Light. Those two spells can take out 3 tokens and the biggest midrange threat. They can also be used effectively individually. Cast it for 6 mana and block/kill a rhino. Here's a link to my standard Ojutai Control deck.

Also, you need to sub out Icefall Regent instead of Sunscorch Regent because it will help control the mid-game and temur threats.

Try the Encase in Ice it answers to of them. Put them in the sideboard. You could try Reprisal it kills them all

That's why I wanna make this deck esper....many reasons but I really like Virulent Plague for those pesky tokens

i like Surge of Righteousness a lot - it hits a lot of important Red aggro like Goblin Rabblemaster or Black midrange Creatures like Siege Rhino and gains you 2 life.

Don't turn to the dark side! I +1 because it WASN'T Esper...

I think I might play around with Secure the Wastes and add another End Hostilities at least on the sideboard.

Still not sure how I feel about Orator of Ojutai, but I'll definitely run a couple games with Icefall Regent instead of Sunscorch Regent just to see how it goes.

I don't blame you about Orator of Ojutai since he is so situational. But flying wall of omens ... I really want to see it work.

Hey I really like this deck - but if you're running 3 wraths, I'd maybe play test with Ojutai Exemplars

March 24, 2015 10:23 p.m.

Defpotec says... #18

It's worth a shot. I didn't think about Ojutai Exemplars being able to dodge my own wraths. That's really useful!

March 24, 2015 10:52 p.m.

SpikedEggnog says... #19

i dont think it dodges the wrath, its an instant blink, so it would blink then instantly return and then the wrath would go off still killing it.

Ahh, you know what, you're right. Sadness.

SpikedEggnog says... #21

its still cool that it makes Anticipate a counterspell if they try to kill Exemplars.

March 24, 2015 11:48 p.m.

epikurus says... #22

Exemplars are hard to kill, the defend well, gain you life, and disrupt the enemy. Solid 4 drop, but still not a wincon. Works well in Ojutai midrange though. Check out my concept.

Maybe you should replace one Erase with a Deicide, so you can look through their library (in case of a god card) and look at all the cards they have, to simply become the ultimate d-bag!... during the game, of course. (If this illegal, don't take this for granted).

Defpotec says... #24

I'm not a huge fan of the extra cost and I see literally no use of god cards locally. I love the idea of checking out their library, though!

Stubborn Denial and Sunscorch Regent seem to be out of place in this deck. I feel they belong in a more midrange build full of threats, and not in a deck where Narset Transcendent's consisntecy is put to risk just by the very presence of excess creatures. IMO you have enough win-cons without them. Also, Denial seems off because its value decreases the later you draw it, and the same can be said for Myth Realized. Ugin's wipe, you'll find, is something you'll be wanting to use almost every time you play it. The proper way to use Ugin is to build up the game to a point where you can just minus Ugin and get a heckton of advantage over your opponent, not to let it slowly ping out your opponent's units. Remember, if you're playing an 8-drop, you want to be winning with it, not grinding with it. You have other cards to get incremental advantage from.

+1 from a fellow U/W player, and can you see if there are any holes in my version?:You do not defy Ojutai! (U/W Control)
