Hmm. I think that so far during play testing, I have been having trouble with drawing cards. A few options would be either Thassa, God of the Sea, or something straight forward like Divination or Read the Bones.

There is a 5 mana instant card that let you draw 3 cards, don't remember its name

Monastery Flock is my suggestion

That could be a good idea.

Last night, at my local FNM, I went up against a deck very similar to this, and my opponent played Dragon's Eye Savants. 0/6 for 2 mana. One mana cheaper than Monastery Flock and it has one more defense that Monastery Flock.

Another thought, might want to check out Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. Exile and the ability to use your opponents creatures against them. Nuts. If you get Phenax, God of Deception and no response from your opponent, then get Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver out, your opponent will have to focus on them or it's over fast. That is what I have seen in my local meta.

That is a good idea. I already have 2 Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. Also, dragon's eye savants are a good idea. Thanks!

Was planing on making a Sultai mill deck around Phenax, God of Deception and Prophet of Kruphix, and it seems you have already done it, and well i might add. Would suggest Dragon's Eye Savants over Archers' Parapet as it has higher toughness, gives devotion to Phenax and options of being a 2/2 or looking at opponents hand. Also do you think Grindclock is useful in this deck?

willb32764 I think Grindclock is a little bit slow. Lets say you get it out turn 2. You tap put a charge counter on it. Turn 3 tap and mill one. If you put in Altar of the Brood on turn 1 then everytime you play land or any permanent then they mill 1. If you are looking to put in an artifact then I would go Altar of the Brood over Grindclock. Just my opinion.

Awesome! I love it when my deck playtests well! I really enjoy this deck because I almost always can last until phenax hits the field.

I am currently playing a deck with the combo Nighthowler + Phenax, God of Deception which has been working very nicely for me. The more you mill your opponent the bigger the nighthowler gets. If you bestow it onto your hornet's or wall of frost, that could be delicious.

Minelia5: no problem! Always glad to help.

Sadly, I don't think DTK has any good defenders other than Crater Elemental, which isn't in your colors. Maybe you should replace Mnemonic Wall with 1 or 2 extra Sylvan Caryatids (after all, Phenax is a 5-drop and you want him out there quickly!). Or Nyx-Fleece Ram for low CMC, high toughness AND a bit of lifegain, all in a single package.

square711 As you mentioned, Crater Elemental isn't in my colors (neither is Nyx-Fleece Ram). I like the Sylvan Caryatids, but I think I'm going to check the sultai/blue black control and see what control they are using. Thanks for the suggestion (I'll keep it in mind)!

Shorecrasher Elemental? You can make him GIANT for mill, 3 devotion for Phenax, and you can flicker him back to the battlefield (Upside down of course) for 1 mana. He's a tad weaker version of AEtherling but he is also in standard.

Interesting. It would be hard on the mana base, but I can try him.
